mrbossman, yes it can, and yes it will.

If it is possible to copy the disc, I would assume you must use a dual layer dvd, since the disc is over 7GB? Has anyone personally done this? Also, would anyone happen to know where one might be able to find an .iso of the disc? This is, of course, for backup purposes only, as some of us may have scratched the original DVD, yet we still own the copyright, and just need to replace the data.

There is a way to put a functional 3.0 nav disc onto a single-layer disc, but the prerequisite is the same as that for copying it onto a dual-layer disc--you need an existing 3.0 disc/image in order to do either one.

FWIW--a complete ISO of the 3.0 is around 6.5 GB IIRC; I guess you can search the usual download sites but I'd be surprised if you're able to find one there.

I plead the 5th as to admitting whether I've personally made a copy of the 3.0 disc...but as mentioned earlier, the ISO is over 6 GB (hint-hint)... ;)

I just put in a 15230099 Touch screen nav unit into my 2005 Envoy Denali and i'm not getting any sound including onstar sound/vehicle sounds, anyone have any idea what the problem could be? I took it and got it unlocked but it has no audio.

My 6 disk changers model is 10359565

Is that a lux or non lux? I'm starting to think my Envoy Denali is non lux and I got the lux touchscreen

I would agree with Linda, Y91 doesn't always guarantee that the system is a lux version. althought it is supossed to be that way but GM does take some short cuts.

Hello

PAC, PIE, BLITZSAFE, SOUNDGATE  ????

Which Interface(S) do you use to incorporate a backup camera and DVD Changer into your factory Nav System? Can you control the changer with the wheel controls ?

Changers like Sony 10 Disc CD DVD DVX-100 ,PANASONIC CX-DH801U 8 DISC or Alpine DHA S680 dvd/mp3/cd changer.

I have read about the backup camera, my real concerns are incorporating and controlling the DVD changer, video and sound. I want to use the GM Nav HU as my monitor. I have not started buying parts yet I need some feed back. I am researching and talking to everyone I can. I have a 2005 Avalanche 1500 with the Bose none y91 system, no nav yet.

Here is the best option I have found for the backup camera/external video input to a Nav System.  They even have a video showing how to install their adapter.  looks very easy.

Well I pulled out the lux amp and installed the original premium amp and everything is back up. I'm not going to mess with it anymore and decided to just forget about it. I guess now I have a 6-disc unit that I didn't have before so I got half the upgrade! I just wish the dealer wouldn't have messed up the headunit and this trouble could have been avoided. I know it may still be possible to get this to work, but not with the dealer here.

I'm selling the lux amp, BTW.

Just wanted to thank all the posters for their info. I successfully installed the tnr into my 2005 gmc 3500 crewcab. As an aside note when it was all said and done the vss wire was already in the truck factory.

PS Firetiger, your amp worked perfect for me, only problem I have is that the lowest volume isnt all that low

I have a lux amp, it didnt work in my truck when programmed, but was told it would work in other vehicles besides the silverados, such as tahoes, yukons, denalis, etc. Its collecting dust here. I had to buy one that came out of a wrecked sierra denali, that already worked, and it worked great in mine. I would do a money back if it didnt work.

Glad to hear it worked well for you. Can't tell you anything about the volume. When I had it working in my truck (with the theftlock temporarily disabled), I didn't have it down low enough to notice any problem as I was trying it out and listening to different soundfields, etc.
