NAV and 6 disk changer in a Silverado

that's what i have down, but recent message has "..Also, I got my non-lux TNR '9287 in today.." what is that designation. i am also still undecided about lux/non-lux. will the sound be the same on a non-lux setup as y current non-y91 '03 tahoe? if it is then i'm cool with that. also i think i've decided against a 6-disc and just getting something for the dell mp3 player. so i'll be following that topic also.

the full no. is 10377287 and that is a new TNR non-lux

My model is 15229287. I think this is the latest model, but I am not sure. 15229287 and 10377287 are both non-lux units.

I don't know where the amp is in my Envoy XUV, but I've heard it's in the rear somewhere. I didn't want to mess with it, so I got the non-lux. I think the nav unit sounds better than the Bose 6-disc unit it replaced. At least it gives me more EQs than my old head unit.

ok that's good info. also it's nice just to unplug and replace the HU without rewiring anything. i'll have to find/run a VSS wire though for my '03 tahoe.

also i just glanced through the thread again for changer harness wiring mods, but can't find 'em. i thought there were some...

Okay guys, I've read through all the talk about what's been done with the NAV units... but before I start going off on my quest to see this happen, I'd like to know what exactly I need to do.

I have an '05 Silverado 1500 with a 1-CD/cassette/XM stereo. I do not believe I have a Bose audio system (I have RPOs UB1, UQ3, and U2K ... I can't decode what UB1 and UQ3 is). I would like to install the touch-screen navigation radio and retain XM.

Without a Bose system, what all is going to be involved in upgrading the audio system before I will be able to replace the head unit (plus any info on where to obtain the required items), and how much dealer involvement will I need to make it all work?

UB1 is the headunit you have

U2K is the XM option

Your right you do not have a Bose system, But the TNR (and the INR) is available for the non-Bose system. If you buy a brand new headunit there is no programming needed. Try Model Electronics Inc.

Help! Putting in a 2003 H2 6-disc Lux head unit and a lux amp in my 2003 Truck (see sig below). Have all the wiring changed over except for the Amplfier Class 2 serial data which is supposed to be tapped at the head unit. The instructions I was given say terminal A1 at HU, but that is org, not dark blue. Help! Removed a single disc Bose, btw.

Well, I think I found a splice pack (207) to tap for the Class II. My radio turns on and I defeat the theftloc by removing the fuse and then reinserting. I can change channels, but there is no volume nor is there any indication on the unit that I'm turning the volume up or down. No other buttons seem to do anything either (audio button). No sound, no chimes (obviously). It did all of that before and after I found the class II wire and hooked it up

Make sure you have the Data Bus wire going to the amp. The amp will not turn on without it and cuase all the issues you are having

The correct wire is A1 on the 24 pin connector (C1) at the HU and it is the smaller orange wire. If you had a factory wired lux amp the wire would be blue at the amp's connector and it is in the B10 position. You need to splice into the A1 orange wire and feed it down to the amp's B10 on the C1 amp connector.

Thanks. Last night after I got in I did some more research and discovered that the orange wire (A1) was correct, although I was still was having issues after connecting this wire. Today after work I dug into it again and double checked all my wiring changes on the amplifier. So far so good. I turned on the radio and started wiggling wires around on the two connectors and she took off! I then pinpointed the problem to the orange power wire to the amp itself. The pin on that wire was bent slightly causing very little contact to the amp pin when it was inserted. A bend and a tweak and I was back in business.

Everything works and sounds better than before. I installed the H2 6-disc rather than a NAV unit and that works fine as well, although I was told that I'd have the midrange adjustment available and there isn't. I'm disappointed in that as I feel it would really help clean up the sound even more. I have an appointment Friday to remove the Theftloc.

I have a 2005 Envoy Denali with Bose/6disc/XM/RSE. What is the plug in play option for the NAV unit? Would 10377287 work as plug n play on my new ride?

no, that is a non lux HU, you would need a lux headunit as the denali is lux amp.

Partnumbers (and there are more) for lux HU is/are 10377531 & 15230099

Are you sure the Envoy Denali has a lux amp? I wouldn't be so sure. I don't know for sure either way, but if I had to guess it would have a non-lux.

What do I need to check to see if its a lux amp or not? Anyone know where the amp is located?
