Looking to add a programmer to basically change the tire size now that I am running 295/75s however whated to get feedback and go with the best as seen by the people on this site. Would appreciate any and all feedback.

For just tire sizes I think 350-400$ is a little steep dealership could probably program the tire size difference cheaper. If you want the performance advantages as well go custom, the handhelds are worthless in that regard.

The dealer will only be able to go up to 275X75 so if that is close enough it will definately be the cheapest way. The handhelds are good for changing shift points, taking the rev limiter off, and changing the spedo. If you want big time performace go with a custom tune. I don't really expect a lot of performance out of my truck running 35s so I chose the handheld. I chose the Superchips and it has worked great. I was able to change the shift points to compensate for the bigger tires which made a huge difference. The spedo is accurate too. Other than that there isn't a big difference between stock and programmed on my truck (I did the 87 tune also, so wasn't expecting much either). Look at the sponser on the side PCM for less. They might be able to do a cheaper tune for just the tire size.

good luck

Bryan at PCMforLess is great, customer service is excellent. As far as handheld programmers go, I really like the Crane/VHP programmer. My truck hauls with it, even with the 8* of false Knock Retard that I'm getting due to my 99 PCM's interpretation of my valvetrain harmonics from the cam and spring swap. Bryan is in the process of doing a custom PCM for my now to fix that issue.
