Suburban with Avalanche front Clip

I was in Mexico for my honeymoon last September and spotted a Black Suburban with the Avalanche (or 03-05 Silverado) front clip. It was at our resort so I got a good look at it, not just a passing glimpse. Anybody seen one of these?

Different countries get different treatments. Sometimes they test alternative styles to see how they are accepted before they bring them to the USA.

I've seen a few of these Subs running around the D/FW area with the new front ends. Classic Chevy in Grapevine, Tx even had a few on the lot...

I would get like a new Burb with the current style like my 03 HD. That would be SHARP. One thing can be said about the Chevy front ends, they are Macho. Its a MANS truck not some truck that looks pretty like a D*e or F*$d F150, but a TUFF BAD A$$ TRUCK!

I have sorta wondered why Chevy hasnt updated the Sub and Tahoe styling to reflect the truck styling, especially that it has been out for 3 year models now. I guess some public opinion survey somewhere said that the majority of the people preferred the rounded front ends. Looking at the Mexican Chevy site it appears that the Tahoes there still have the rounded fronts but the subs have the angled ones like the Silverado 1500s. Go figure.

The reason they switched the front end on the trucks was to have them match all the cars/trucks that are new/redesigned for the "American Revolution" campaign and trying to differientate Chevy from GMC. When they released the new truck, there was a sharp drop in sales/customer opinion of the truck's look for women. Who are most Tahoes/Subs/Yukons bought and driven by? Women, so they didn't want to screw up that segment. I like the new front ends, I just don't like them with the rest of the body. Square up the front and square up the rest of the truck too and it look really sweet, like the Colorados.

I don't like the new front ends and the Colorado's are even worse. The GMC however, is not that bad.

There was not a drop in sales when the new front fascia came out. It increased! Whether it was due to the major rebates, I don't know, but look up the numbers, the #'s of Chevy Silverado's sold increased the year the new front ends came out. Just cuz you don't like the look, don't post blanket statements that are totally wrong. Peace Chris
