1988 F-150

First vehicle, got it a few months after turning 16, either late 2000 or early 2001. I loved it because it was mine, but it was a old truck with 160k on it when I got it and there were issues. But I drove it past 200k doing all the things every dumbass teenage boy does when he gets his license. It was one of the biggest vehicles in the student lot, especially by my senior year when fast and the furious came out and Civics became cool somehow. :)

1998 GMC Jimmy

Not really a truck, but it's what I got next. SLT trim so it was night and day difference from the Ford. It also had an incredible appetite for front end components even though it was almost exclusively driven on the highway. Ball joints, wheel bearings, idler arm, ball joints some more, leaky oil lines, rear wiper never worked, trim bits rattled, speakers for the radio would go out occasionally, the little cooling fan on the back of the radio had a bad bushing or bearing or something and screamed. :D But it was comfy and reasonably good on gas.

2003 Silverado

Regular cab with the stepside bed and a 4.8. I put a AEM intake, FM exhaust and a Diablosport programmer on it and it was pretty quick. This one also had crappy interior bits that rattled, and the illumination failed on the heater controls and the headlight switch before 50k miles (truck bought with 32k on it). Had that steering clunk from the intermediate shaft, had issues with emissions solenoids and airbag sensors and several other things. Pissed me off enough that I went and bought a

2008 Toyota Tacoma

First brand new vehicle. Crew cab, TRD offroad package, everything. Overall a very good truck, definitely my favorite, but the local dealers were beyond awful to work with so that was dumped after about 2 years for my Subaru, which though tons of fun to drive just isn't working for me. I hope to be back into a new truck this spring/summer and for the time being (even with my awful luck with them) GM is ahead of the F-150 because of option packaging mostly, but I'm waiting for some media reviews of the new Ford engines and the opportunity to drive one when I'm a little closer to buying so I can see how it compares to the Chevy/GMC. The biggest complaint I have from riding in other F-150s is Ford seems to do their seats real firm, which I don't like too much. I guess I'll just have to update this post in June/July with the results. :D

1993 Dodge Ram: 5.2l 318, two wheel drive, tough as nails, only thing that ever went wrong in the two years i had it was the rear end blew up, replaced it with a posi and sold it

1993 Dodge Dakota: 5.2, 4x4 lifted on 31"s, ext cab that was soo small no grown person could fit in it but good for storage, great off road, flooded it in a big swamp, box fell off, drove with no box for a few months, sold for parts $200

1985 GMC Sierra, 305, 4x4 reg cab, truck has almost 300 000 kms on it, still almost mint, works great, might lift it and run it or just keep it in the garage forever

2001 GMC sierra 4.3l v6, 4x4 reg cab, has 340 000 kms on it, needs some tlc engine wise, good daily driver, cant decide if i should sell it or keep it.

Next vehicle i buy is going to be somthing more luxirious, Sierra C3 , silverado SS or dare i say F150 King Ranch

89 Silverado Sportside. First truck Loved the Sportside styling.

95 Silverado Longbed. Still had TBI on the 350.

96 Silverado Longbed. The new Vortec engine made it feel like a race truck compated to the TBI trucks.

02 Yukon XL Denali. All I can say is Greatness.

92 olds cierra cutlass- got it for 300 bucks and ran ok the guy claimed nothing was wrong with it until about a week later found out all the fuel lines were duct taped and the top of the tank had a giant hole in it, so once the gas ate through the tape it poured gas like a mofo...also found out the harmonic balancer was taped up to not make the god awful rattling sound....pros:cheap, drove it for about a year with it pouring gas. I left the driver side door always unlocked incase i had to bail out...cons-straight granny cruiser, gas leak, harmonic balancer..the car was a hunk of crap

91 s-10 rclb tahoe 4.3 4x4- awsome truck got it for 450 bucks was rusting out bad but everything worked on it. did preventive maintance on it and it never let me down. Pros-cheap rugged truck, sold me on chevy trucks for life Cons-had to fix the fuel tank as it was rusting out needless to say i sold it with 450k on the factory trans and motor because the seals were begining to pour oil...miss that truck

2004 silverado rclb 5.3 4 speed- a great truck had to put some money into it for stupid stuff but it has never let me down, never gotten me stranded or stuck Pros-awsome all around Cons-cost me a little money for things that shoulden't of went bad

99 wt 4x4. 4.3 rclb. Good truch towed 10k lbs a few times. It loved it. Had tons more power once I replaced the cat right before I sold it.

06 silvy wt 4x4 rclb 5.3 ls package. Super truck.

07 nbs gmc 5.3 4x4 slt. Just wanted power windows for once and found a loaded truck cheaper than a wt w pw..

81 scottsdale 2wd. Special green paint and interior. My "vintage old man" truck. Has a color matched cap with wood paneling inside. 350 bored 60 over. Love it!!!

My first truck was 79 chevy c-10 silverado long wheel base. I drove this truck almost exclusively in high school good truck cheap to maintain and is still in the family running strong.

Second was a white chevy 81 silverado c-10 short bed with a 350. I loved this truck had it about a month mom and grandma took it to the city one weekend truck caught on fire and left them stranded on the road. After this incident all my vehicles carry at least a fire extingusher at all times.

Third was a replacement for the 81 was the newest truck I ever owned a red 97 sonoma ext. cab. Had a lot of options 14000 miles on it when I bought it. 4.3l got great fuel mileage I could get 27 running 85 on the highway. Sold it with 80000 miles on it and only replaced the alternator.

2000 white gmc sierra z71 sle had the 4.8l regular cab. I would probably still have this truck had it not been for the wife and a baby reg cabs aren't that big.

2006 chevrolet silverado crew cab lt2 5.3l. dark blue metallic. This was a decent truck but I hated it, steering made noise from day one two intermediate shafts, and 3 rack and pinions and still wasn't right. The was my dealers favorite truck it spent more time with them than on the road. Some thing in the dash would squeak and drive you crazy when it was cold. Pros the room was nice and the interior was secondly only to the gmt900's.

I had for several years as a second vehicle 1984 chevrolet k5 blazer silverado. Lifted 6" with 35x12.5.15 super swamper ssrs. Then it was sold as a sacrifice to save other things. It was the hardest thing I had to do and I still miss that rig.

my 2009 chevrolet silverado ext. cab z71 4x4. onstar blue tooth, truck dash. I love this truck and is the last one I plan on buying for a very long time. The only con is i have the 40/20/40 front row seat and to lift the seat you have to clean out the cup holders or it all ends up in the back floorboard. Plus when that seat is up the only other cup holder is in the door and it will only hold a bottle, or can. That is my only complaint about the GMT900s I love this truck

I also have a 05 chevy sliverado 1500 regual cab 4.3v6 manual trany. The only thing that went on me is the resistor for the heater fan. What have you added to yours ?

First truck: 1989 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab. 2.3 I40 (4 cyl) with manual transmission.

This truck was pretty nice and reliable. When I got the truck, it still had original hoses and belts. The transmission started going out at 180,000 miles, and I didn't feel like replacing it. I traded it in for my next truck.

Second truck: 1999 Chevy S10 LS regular cab. 4.3 V6 with automatic transmission.

This truck kicked ass. It was a dealer demo truck, so it had mixed features that didn't match standard configurations on the lot. It had a lot of pep, and I didn't get ran over by anybody. I traded it in due to some minor frame damage from a severe pothole and the paint started to crack (it was black).

3rd and current truck: 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 WT regular cab. 4.3 V6 with manual transmission.

This was a custom order truck for me. I don't do a lot of heavy loads, so the V6 in this truck is fine by me. Since it has the same engine as my previous truck, I know my way around it. These days I don't haul ass, so I sit back and enjoy the ride. I have been adding things to it, and I must say it is very nice to own a Silverado.

I've been through a few!

1969 IH Scout 800A: First rig and I'll never let it go! 304 V8 and 4 spd. Complete engine rebuild, 2.25" dual exhaust with 12" long glasspacks, black AR wheels and 235s. Love everything about it. It's never left Oregon, so that's why it's made it all these years.

1997 Ford F150 XL: RC/SWB 4x4, 4.2 V6 and 5 spd. It was a nice pickup. I drove it off a cliff before I ever got any of the dozen recalls. It survived my ownership for 2 months. I added XLT rims and tires, exhaust and a stereo before I piled it up.

1978 IH Scout II: 345 V8 with an auto. Holley Carb, Accel Ignition, B&M shifter and shift kit, 3" twister mufflers dumped, 35" Procomp MTs on chrome spokes. Me and that old girl went through alot. It rode and drove better than my 800, but wasn't as cool. It had a cheap paint job over bondo and rust. Other than that, it was pretty sound. Drove it from Vegas to FL

1996 GMC K1500 SLE Z71: Ext/SWB, 5.7. The nicest truck I had up to that point. O2 sensors took a dump on the way back to FL from PA. Lost a head gasket at 99K. Never got around to pimping it out before the divorce.

2002 Chevy S10 LS: RC/SWB 2wd, 2.2 and 5 spd. That was my idea of being responsible after divorce. I resented it for being so small and gutless after having a fullsize. I beat it pretty hard, but it never showed.

2004 Dodge 1500 SLT: RC/SWB, Hemi. 4.5" lift, Eagle 102s, 35 BFG KMs, true duals with 40 series Flowmasters, and a butt load of little extras. I drove it for a whole four years! I really loved that truck, but should have bought a CC. Baby came and truck went.

2007 Chevy Tahoe LTZ: 2wd, had evey single option but 4wd and power folding steps. Traded my Dodge for it so we could have a family rig. Belonged to the dealership owner's wife. Super, super nice truck, but while 2wd was cool in FL, it sucked in SD. Wifey and I both miss it.

1978 Ford F250 Custom: 4x4 RC/LWB, 351M and a 4 spd. Bought it for a driving project truck, and to get a piece of my manhood back after trading my Dodge for the wifes Tahoe and having to drive her Jetta. Never could get it to run right. Thought it had a valvetrain issue, but put off pulling it apart. The guy I sold it to took it to a shop and found a cracked intake manifold. Never had enough spare time and money to do what I wanted to her.

2006 Chevy 1500 Z71 Lt3: 4x4, Ext/SWB, 5.3. Sold the old Ford and traded the wifes 03 Jetta for it since she had the 'hoe. The color matched the wife's Tahoe. I added BFG KMs, and dual exhaust with a SI/DO Super 44 and 3.5" tips. Got a hell of a headache driving from FL to SD. Exhaust reverberated off my enclosed trailer and I had to wear earplugs. I really needed a crew cab, so I sold it.

1997 Ford F250 XLT: 4x4, CC/SWB, 7.3 Powerstroke, 5 spd. I have always loved that bodystyle. I ended up spending a ton on this baby. Clutch, flywheel, exhaust manifold gaskets, up pipes, batteries, starter, glowplug relay, starter relay, cam position sensor, ect. I added a 4" lift, 16x10 Eagle 102s, 315 Nitto Terra grapplers, 3" down pipe, 4" straight exhaust, CAI, new rear bumper and reciever hitch, plus a stereo. Wifey traded it in for a Audi A6 Quattro.

2010 Sierra 1500 SLE: 4x4, CC/SWB, 5.3, 6 spd auto. Bought it in August right after I bought my first house, so it's unaltered to date. I traded in mamma's tahoe for it. Now we have a 4x4 truck that she can drive when the snow flies and I'm deployed. She doesn't care much for it because it's not lifted yet. That's why I love herl! Now to win the lottery!

It's a vicous cycle.

first truck was a 1985 s-15 Jimmy we called it chewbacca since thats what it sounded like, It was given too me by my at the time girlfriends father. It was so rusty you could see the ground through parts of the floor the door latch was worn out so it took about 10 tries to get the door to shut on the drivers side. The passengers side window would roll out of the door frame! The transmission had serious issues and would actually heat the cab of the truck through the floor while driving it in the winter. the gear selector was also worn out and I had to use a bungee cord connected to the column shifter and the sun visor hook or it would slip out of park and roll away. It was a total piece of crap but it was fun and free.

second was a 2002 Jeep TJ sport with an automatic and the 4.0L, lifted and running interco ssr's loved this jeep and the auto trans so perfect for offroading.

third truck was a 2004 Jeep TJ 4cylinder lifted with 32" bfg muds. It was a 5 speed manual and after the lift and tires I dont think it ever went past 4th gear. It barely could move out of its own way but offroad it was so light it would go anywhere.

fourth was a 2003 Jeep TJ Rubicon in the rare inca gold color with a manual trans my like for this jeep was on par with the 2002 I lifted it and ran interco trxus mt's it started to become a real money pit and I wasnt driving it anymore this jeep really let me know what jeep stands for "just empty every pocket"

fifth was a 1991 Jeep Cherokee I was going to turn it into an offroad beater but I was working too much and sold it after driving it once and owning it for 4 months

sixth my current 2007 Vmax SLT I love this truck and it hauls my motocross bikes which make up for my lack of jeeps

1993 GMC Sierra 2500 SLX (6-Lug 3/4 Ton) - Bought it from my Dad's work when I was 15, couldn't wait to turn 16. Pro's: Great first truck, went anywhere, loud, paid hardly anything for it. Con's: Motor blew at 53,000 miles.

1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 - LS Extended Cab Z71. Pro's: Real nice truck, all kinds of options that I wasn't used to (Power windows, A/C). Fast and Smooth riding. Con's: High Mileage, Rust, 3-doors, Window Regulators.

2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 - LT1 Extended Cab Z71. Pro's: Very nice truck, basically an upgraded version of my 1999. Everything was great about this truck, only traded it because I got a lot of money for it. Con's: None that I can think of.

2010 GMC Sierra 1500 - SLE2 Extended Cab. Quite the step up in luxury from my 2006. Power bucket seats climate control, all the goodies. Pro's: Everything. Con's: Why can't I turn the cargo light on without the dome light coming on? (But that's seriously it, love this truck)

I work in pipeline inspection and have been lucky enough to have had company trucks for most of the time. I put the location where I lived and used the truck at the time as well.

1994 Ford F150 4x4 Super Cab Short Box (Minnesota)

1996 Ford F250 4x4 Super Cab Long Box (Alberta) - this thing was huge. Good for hauling trailers, bad for parking in the parking garage at my apartment.

1998 Ford Expedition 4x4 (Alberta) - Excellent truck.

2002 Ford F150HD Super Cab 4x4 (Texas) - Good, my father-in-law has it now. Its got close to 150k miles on it.

2004 Ford F150 Super Cab 4x4 (Texas)

2005 GMC Yukon 4x4 (Kuwait) - Best company truck I have ever had.

2006 Ford F150 Super Crew 4x4 (Texas) - 'snowball', loved this truck

2008 Ford F150 Super Crew 4x2 Lariat (Texas) - this was the first truck I bought for personal use, mostly for my wife to drive. We like it, its very comfortable, rides nice, reliable.

2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 Crew Cab (Oklahoma) - 2 months old, no complaints, very comfortable, rides nice, haven't tested it off road yet. This is the first truck that I have bought personally for use on the pipeline.

Personally I have owned a bunch of Jeep Wranglers: 1989 YJ Islander, 1991 YJ Sahara, 2007 JK Sahara, as well as 1994 Jeep Cherokee and 2008 Jeep Commander. I loved all my Jeeps (maybe not the Commander) and I hope to buy another Wrangler. I considered buying one when I bought the Silverado, but the Wrangler isn't practical for work.

My favorites have been the Yukon, the 06 F150, the 91 Jeep Wrangler, and the 07 Jeep Wrangler.

95 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 Reg Cab Sport- Got this truck with 60K on it, traded it in with almost 200k. Only major failure was a fuel pump, but I bought it when I was 18, ran the crap outta this truck, put all kinds of mods on it, took it to the drag strip and it loved it. Was my first bought truck.

02 GMC Sierra Reg Cab 5.3- Bought it brand new and kept it for 20k miles, had piston slap, oil usage, clunky rear end and the dealer said it was all normal, this truck listed for almost 30k and I was paying nearly $500/mo for it and hated it. I did some mods to it and it was pretty damn fast, but was a pile of junk.

00 Silverado Reg Cab 4.3 - Traded my GMC for this, had 20k on it and kept it till 160k. Was a good truck, put tons of fuel pumps in it and had a handful of minor issues when I traded it in, but I ran the crap outta this truck and got my monies worth. Was a plain ol v-6 reg cab..

02 Trailblazer(wifes)- Best vehicle I've owned, this suv has 160k plus miles on it, and has had nothing but general maintenance done to it. It can haul anything I need it to, gets decent mileage and rides pretty good. The little I-6 can hold its own too . My wife still loves this old suv and as far as daily use, I still can't find a reason to replace it. Its paid for and for what we need, nothing could do any better. A+ on this one Chevy!

08 Silverado Crew Cab 5.3- Recent purchase, 40k. So far I love it, mileage is ok. Power and ride is great! Getting about 16mpg city(80% city). One thing I don't like so far, is there is no power ports for the rear seats? They have 4 freaking cup holders, but not one power port. Cmon Man!
