Trucks i have owned in order that i owned them:

68' Ford Ranchero. high revving 302, c-6. Original int w/o a single tear. Original moon hub caps. I was 15 and this was an actual barnyard find. Picked it up for $400 and installed the tranny and put new brakes on it. Owned it for 6 weeks and then flipped it end over end.

72' Chevy. 6cy, 3 on the column. Loved the truck but it was a lot of work.

67' El Camino. Bad ass 400 sb, 350 tranny. Kick ass paint and would haul ass

71' Ranchero. BUILT 302, c-4, custom paint.........fast

90' GMC Sierra. RC 4.3. 5 sp. Loved this truck. Drove it from Wa to Ga roundtrip twice. The best truck i ever owned.

98' Dodge Ram Quad cab. 5.9, auto. Biggest piece of sh1t i ever owned

94 Madza 2.3, 5sp. Was installing alarms and need cheap transportation. Fine truck, just too small

99 Chevy Z=71 EC. Great truck except i had to replace the rear end TWICE

93' Ford F-250 4x4. 5.8 auto. GREAT truck. Looked like a city utility truck but was good to me.

98' Ranger SC 4x4. 4.0, auto. great truck that i still own but never drive. The 4.0 pulled my Stratos bass boat without a problem

02' GMC Seirra 1500HD CC 4x4. 6.0, 4l80. Love this truck. Currently my DD. Only complaint is like everyone else.......gas mileage is horrible. With winter and idling truck to warm up i'm getting 8.6-9.3 MPG. Tires are larger than stock so i know it throws it off a little bit.

I haven't owned many, so I'll list the couple I used as daily drivers and worktrucks as well as the ones I've had in my name.

1987 S10 Blazer: My sister's truck, but I drove it for a few months while I was between cars. Had a 2.8, slow as hell, but had some torque. Got me to and from work, but that is about all I can say. Got cramped real easy with passengers.

1978 K5 Blazer: 350, 6" suspension lift, 3" body lift and 36x12.50 Super Swampers. Bought this from a guy without knowing what I was getting into. It was reliable enough at first, until the two-piece driveshaft started flying apart and it got an oil leak. Kept it as a project, then gave it away after I joined the Army.

1994 Ford E-350: 7.3 non-Powerstroke made it damned reliable but slower as the 2.8 Blazer. This was my work truck at the forklift dealer and it had the telephone company style body. It got the job done.

1990 Dodge Dakota extended cab: Still have it and a family member uses it as a daily driver. 3.9 V6. It has defied my disbelief in Dodge's staying power by passing 230,000 miles.

1978 F-250: Given to me by my brother-in-law, this truck is a retired roofing company beater with the usual rust, but is still solid. 400M motor, I have maybe $300 in it including a brake booster/master cylinder assembly and the title/registration. It has some rust or trash in the gas tank and occasionally the fuel filters clogs up, so I need to clean or replace the tank eventually. Tried to sell it, took $100 down, then the guy went to jail, so the truck does not want to give me up, I guess.

2006 GMC Sierra: The reason I joined this site. Great truck so far, and much less problematic than my Ford or Dodge. :D

These are all previous and includes cars & a SUV.

1970 C/10- Bought it cheap because I always liked my buddy's (now mine) 70 Custom/10. Pros: Bought it cheap from an in law. Saved a classic days from being parted out. 350 4bbl w/headers, TH350 & 3:73 posi. Perfect grill. Cons: Floor was rusted out. Didn't run quite right. Father in law "helped" me sell it and sold it for less than I wanted.

1956 Chevy 210- Loved the car. Between my dad and I we had too many projects (4) and he talked me into selling it. :chevy: We bought the car togather and did everything 50/50. Pros: 2 door post, 10.5:1 283 Bored to 289 (.040 over) with 30/30cam (see cons also.) Rare Muncie 3 speed. Had all of the chrome for the car. Cons: Was in primer when it was sold. Someone half assed the floorboards. Couldn't get the engine to run right. Found out after it was sold to an acquaintance it was a 4/7 swap cam. So we had the firing order wrong!!!. Never got to drive the car legally on the road, just around the Block. Last but not least WAS TALKED INTO SELLING IT!

1989 Camry: Was my wife's first car and was purchased by my in laws from my Aunt. Pros: Good mileage. Didn't care if I blew it up, but it never did. Cons: Smelled. Gutless 4cyl. CV's were SHOT.

2005 GMC Envoy: Miss it so. Pros: Bought it using my RR discount and got 5,000 off. Our first new car. Hauled ass. Handeled well for a SUV. Mileage was decent. Cons: The "Heavy Duty" Bilstein's were shot within 30,000 miles. 2 injectors went out the first year we had it. One of the O2 sensor' went out the first year. The Alt had a bad Diode @ 2 years old. HVAC never worked right. Anti lock brakes never worked right and had countless near hit's because of them.

2000 Dodge Dakota - Only thing I "disliked" was that it was too small. With the 4.7 in it the thing was a rocket. Family simply outgrew the truck in short order....

2007 Nissan Titan - Bought with my heart, not my head. Engine and tranny were pretty darn good. Rear-end is too small for that truck and the specs they say it's capable of. Intererior was cheap. Seats were OK at best....if i'd kept the thing i imagine they'd have fallen apart. But it was a fun truck.

Current 2006 2500hd - dont like that I dont have lumbar support in the seat. 6-speed would be nice to have. otherwise the thing I dont like about it is that i didnt get a d-max!

-1980 5.7 full size Blazer, like the look, gutless

-1999 5.4 ex-cab F250 SD, excellent, reliable truck, not enough power

-2001 6.0 2500hd Sierra reg cab long box, good reliable truck, no interior space

-2004 6.0 2500hd Sierra ex cab short box, good truck, reliable, roomy

-2006 6.0 2500hd crew cab shorty, nice truck, but too damn long with no turning radius, traded it back after one month for the next truck on the list!

-2006 5.3 Sierra crew cab 1500, very comfy, decent fuel economy, O.k towing capability

-2008 Avalanche 5.3, awesome ride, good fuel, nice interior. too heavy for small engine and did not tow very well. Not sold on the leaking tonneau system, will be expensive to reseal it when it gets old, too many gaskets

Current

used 2004 6l 2500 light duty, ex cab shorty, Love the truck so far, comfy and powerful, first used truck I bought in many years, but got it for a good price so I will try it out for a few years and then trade it up to anoter new one, I want to see what Ford and Gm come out with over the next couple years. Not impressed at the moment with the quality of the new GM's and to a lesser extent Ford, they just need to get a real gas engine in the F150, 5.4 doesn't cut it.

1990 Mazda B2200 5sp 2wd. Didn't lower it...

1994 Ford F-150 XL RCLB 4x4. 5L, 5Spd, 3.55 LSD. Loved that truck. Not family friendly, though.

2007 Silvy CCSB 2wd 4.8L Better for families & who needs 4x4

2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Extended Cab - great truck but had the small V8.. big mistake!

2007 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab - great truck but should have got the 4wd.. doh!

2004 Ford F-150 had all kind of engine problems with it, may be because of the vvt FEATURE?!!!!,,,great 4x4, nice looking, better interior than GM!. Loved it!

1989 Ford Ranger 4X2 - Bare bones 4cyl version. No a/c. No carpet. No bumper. No Nothin! Great basic transportation. Bought it in California, drove it across the country a few times, spent a couple of sub zero winters in upstate New York and finally unloaded it after a couple of hot summers in Texas. I had some respect for this truck when I finally sold it at 104k.

1995 GMC Tahoe 350 4x4. Lots of room, horrific quality, never-ending problems. Everybody remembers those brakes that lasted just 5,000 miles. Always something broken. Ditched it around 80k.

1999 Chevy Suburban 350 4x4. Huge. Perfect for hauling the wife and four kids. Dog on acceleration. Demolished an Olds Aurora in a T-bone accident (Olds fault) with minor cosmetic damage. Problems from the get go... fuel pumps, alignment, electronics. Thought I was making the right call by searching out one of the Wisconsin built models instead of the Mexican built model. This was one so troublesome I feel sorry for the owners of Mexican trucks who supposedly had 50% more problems. Got rid of it after multiple 4x4 issues and problems with the electronics. Traded at 81k.

2003 Chevy Suburban 5.3 Z71 4x4. Big improvement over the '99. Always felt much more powerful and faster than the '99. Liked the flex fuel, used it a lot. Multiple 4x4 issues started at 80k and traded it.

2007 Chevy Suburban 5.3 Z71 4x4. Nicer inside and out but feels more like the '99 in terms of power. Problems from day one... seat belt replaced, three fuel pumps, complete nav system replaced, now needs new hubs at only 63k. Plastic rear bumper torn off in moderate 4 wheeling. Like the amenities but it's clear this one will crap out around 80k like the others.

2008 Toyota Tundra 5.7 DC Limited 4x4. Powertrain crushes all competitors. Smooth, endless power. Interior rather pedestrian. Did I mention the powertrain? Looks so-so. Out pulls my Chevy's by a mile. Totally, 100% trouble-free. Rides like a work truck. Would never have considered the Toyota before the bailout. Would never consider another truck after owning it. Before you go off the deep-end trust me when I say I was YOU two years ago. Once you drive it, you won't go back. Powertrain more than makes up for the ugly.

1968 Chevy Pickup long bed. Pros it was reliable with the small 6 cylinder Cons it had a 6 cylinder

1992 Chevy S-10 - Pros it was reliable with a 4.3l 6 cylinder. Cons - it was an S10 and I really needed something bigger

1997 GMC Sierra SLT extended cab - Pros had a 5.7l that had plenty of power for my needs. I loved my truck! Cons - Kids pretty much grew out of it and I hated that we had to push the seats up to get them in and out of the truck. They needed their own doors.

2007 Chevy Silverado Crew Cab - Pros It has 4 doors! LOL and I love pretty much everything about it. Cons - I kinda wish I would have gone with a 4x4 instead
