NOTICE: Postings dealing with defeating factory

Recommended Posts

Sorry guys, but we are now going to have to delete any/all posts dealing with how to defeat any factory safety devices.

Its not that we don't like to share info(cause i would love to keep that kind of stuff up), but we've been alerted to the fact that with such info on the site, we may open ourselves up to being sued.

Rest assured, we will be seeking personalized legal help, and will find a way to allow such posts if possible.

Thanks for your cooperation!

SORRY! I understand where you guys are coming from, and it doesn't piss me off or anything that you yanked my post. Keep up the good work.

Vic

ps. I reposted late last night saying that I had reinstalled the brake/shift lockout. I was informed by a good friend of something I never thought of before. Doing the mod I spoke of will put premature wear on your U-joints and drivetrain by not having the system locked down with the brake pedal. And with a 4WD like mine, there are even more parts involved that could be affected by doing this. I have reinstalled everything back to factory setup. Sorry for that rant, but I still don't like this system or "safety feature" as some call it, but I will just have to get used to it I guess.

For the record:

Merv... You're right.  It is unfortunate but understandably true that to protect this board, you would have to do that.  I support you and your decision to do so.

Now for the rant:   Isn't it stupid that our society has become so litigatious that we all have to protect ourselves from stuff like this?  Hey; I have a million dollar liability policy on my charter fishing business JUST IN CASE somebody get's drunk & slips on my boat.

It's the fellow eager to "get" something for nothing, and a hoarde of settlement hungry attorneys that allow this situation to fester.

Remember the lady that spilled coffee at Mc Donalds?  Now Ronald serves lukewarm coffee.

Remember the Honda ATC90 that as a kid was a great toy?  Well, it morphed into a "Big Red" 300 cc unit til a drunk 15 year old flipped one going 40 mph.  Can you say Duh?

How about the saddlebag gas tanks on GM trucks (73-87).  I'll admit I used that $1000 settlement certificate (I should be ashamed)...But I truly feel that those trucks were as safe as anybody elses.

I am a High School teacher, I cannot give a student an aspirin because our district could be liable for the kids reaction.

My neighbor's sidewalk is clean, and in perfect repair, a kid fell on it a knocked out 3 teeth.  Guess who's insurance footed the dental bill without question?  You bet - - His homeowners settled it rather than fight it...it was cheaper.

The family of the thief that fell through the skylight got a bundle off of allstate too.  (Attractive Nuisance)

At what point does ANYBODY have to take responsibility for their own actions?   When do we say:  "That's CRAZY" and order the plaintiff to a frivolous suit to PAY?

(I know ..the inherent problem with loser pays is that the little guy is at a major disadvantage when he is right).

Just a rant guys:  And as Dennis Miller says: "I could be wrong".

Yes, it is a shame that society these days has turned this direction.  People these days now don't have to take any responsibility for their own stupid, idiotic actions, they can turn their stupidity into money.

For years meth makers have been a problem in rural areas like where I am from.  Since anhydrous ammonia is a major componant of meth, and it is something that is widely used by farmers in this area, meth makers have been stealing it from the portable tanks used in application of this product to fields.  NH3 as it is called is a nasty product that if comes into contact with your eyes will cause you to go blind, in addition to other things.  Well, these theives have drilled through tanks, yet go blind when coming in contact with this stuff due to no protection.  Courts have ruled in favor of the theives when they sue the farmers for their own stupid actions.  Amazing.  Thank goodness there is now a law on the books that prevents that from happening now in Illinois.

I'm sure everyone has a story similar to this.  I don't know where people like this come from.  I was raised to be responsible for my actions, guess I'm old school even though I'm only 20 years old.

LOL!!!!

Good idea dude, I'll buy a copy. But you know, somebody, somewhere, will think of a way to sue you over it for some stupid reason.

(a paper cut comes to mind)

it annoys me so much that the stupid people always win!  you need to be responsible.  if someone gets drunk and rams into my truck and gets hurt, there is no way they are gonna get money from me, but with the screwed up way our world works the drunk person could be sittin' pretty.

mY ETHICS  class was great get this one

Guy in his middle 40's goes to a bar after work.  High class guy.  Drove i forget what foreign car ($40K +)

Well he left the bar took a curve to fast slid off the road into someone front yard and hit a tree.  He died

His wife sued the car maker, the bar, and the owner of the house whos tree the guy hit.

She won and got money from all

car maker settled out of court to not draw attention to the case

bar got sued because they served hiom and let him drive

owner of the house shouldnt have had a tree in his yard

Lady said after her husband died she couldnt live like they did prior

SCREW THAT your husband drove drunk

I really do dislike people.  Especially people like this

how could you possibly get away with suing the guy for having a tree in your front yard.  That is horrible.  If I were that guy I would've countersued for damages to the tree and the emotional trauma that it put him through.

There are so many bogus cases, people sue anyone one for anything.  The one Ryan just mentioned was a prime example.  How is it that people can create such stupid lawsuits and the win.

But, I guess in most cases where you hear of these multi-million dollar law suits they never get paid out because they end up going to a higher court.
