Well I am in the planning stages of a new vehicle. Looking at probably an 08 Tahoe next spring 2008 (unless a great deal comes up before then). I am going to go for the 2wd just dont know LT or LS. The only reason to get the LT is the sunroof, $995 option. Just wondering comments on why you have to have it or hate it.

If you are tall especially in the torso you will lose too much headroom with the sunroof. I am 6'2" tall and passed on it for only that reason.

I wont buy a sunroof because of my head clearance, I have to have my seat in the middle so I can be out the sunroof to see because the roof is so low. Also its just something else that can leak and is something else to break. I like things as simple as possible, but with functionality. Windows work fine.

Thanks! I am 6ft 3 so headroom is nice. My moms 00 Blazer had a sunroof and I didnt seem to loose any headroom (like there was any). Its something to consider. Also regarding leaks yea it adds to the possibility but I know a ton of people with factory and custom sunroofs and havent had a problem. It seems it was more common yrs ago technology does advance.

Ryan, while out sitting in some of the 07 900 Rado's, I found the sunroof made it impossible for me to sit in the truck. There's too much of a drop in the roof for it. I'm 6'5, so I know the new ride will be solid up top.

I drove a NBS Silverado with a sunroof when shopping for my truck. I'm also 6'3" and with the seat as low as it would go there was less than a finger width between my head and the roof...and that's not counting hair! Without the sunroof I've got 4-5 inches of headroom.

I love my sunroof. If it's not raining or I don't have my g/f in there...It's wide open.

But I'm not quite 6' tall. :driving:

If it's an option, I'd go for it. I love my sunroof. Just sit in one and make sure ya got room - but they're quite handy to have; esp on a nice day when you want to go for a cruise.

Never had any issues - even on our old '01 Tahoe. 130k miles, sunroof still works great, no leaking.

Have owned two vehicles with two different styles of sunroofs and liked them both. Can't beat them for the added upper ventilation. My '05 Jeep Liberty had the factory electric sunroof that retracted inside the vehicle. The Jeep had unbelievable amounts of headroom so the loss was virtually unnoticable. Had a manual pop-up style cut into my old '97 C1500 just because I wanted to vent the cab (was cheaper than buying a sliding rear window)....and yes, it did leak some when in the pressure-wash car wash. Holes in the roof usually leak at some point, either by not sealing correctly or when you accidently leave them open. Would not hesitate to buy one again.

My 06 has hardly any room takeup by the glass, wonder why they went back to the sliding panel between the metal and the headliner??

I have the Sunroof and power sliding rear window on my '07 Sierra HD. It's nice to have but I find that I don't use them much. I'd still order it again though.

My wifes YD has one and I don't think it's ever been used in 4 years!

Never had one leak. Don’t really open it much. Use the venting sometimes with the family, Bean=vent. Often have the sun cover closed to keep the hot out, and in the winter to keep the cool from falling down. Maybe a selling feature for the next buyer. May not get your money back, but at least yours will sell.

1998 tahoe- sunroof

1995 tahoe- no sunroof
