Help Me With My "dilemma!"

It is time for my wife to upgrade from a Trailblazer to an '07 Tahoe LTZ or an '07 Denali....I can't complain, she let me get an '07 2500HD Classic CC 4x4 in January.

Here in Kansas City the dealers are willing to go $4,000 below invoice on both.

We have narrowed it down to a Stealth Gray Denali with Ebony leather or a Graystone Metallic Tahoe LTZ with Ebony leather....

Now the driveline is different, but they are both very nice vehicles....

Any advantages to either....gas isn't much of an issue as it is company paid.

Thanks in advance...

I was thinking the 6speed auto vs the old 4 speed you get with the tahoe would swing my vote to the denali. I think of it this way, with the 6.2 L and the 6 speed auto in the Denali, you will have more power and get as good or better fuel mileage.

Just remember, 6.2 for the Denali.

And how could I forget the most important upgrade. Does the Yukon get the same engine though? I thought it just got the good ole 6.0.

Edit: Just checked GMC's site the Yukon Denali does get the 6.2 also. So bwinter1 no matter which Denali you get you will be rollin in style. :puke::cool:

bewinter, you should be able to get more $s off the Denali than the Tahoe.Typically a dealer will discount a higher priced vehicle more.

Denali bug, I am sure he really appreciated your reply.

I have the '07 Denali and the 6.2 only comes in the Denali and Escalade. It is simply awesome and is what turned me away from the regular Yukon and Tahoe.

Definitely go with the Denali, the 6.2 is worth it alone, the 6sp is not imo the greatest thing since sliced bread like everyone believes, but the difference between power with the 6.2vs5.3 is incredible. Also the denali just has a classier look to it than the every day tahoe. Either way you will be getting a nice ride, but my vote goes to the denali. Good luck.

I appreciate all of the responses.

Has anyone else has major problems with their Denali or Tahoe for that matter??? I am sure there are problems with every vehicle, but is seems like the 07 Denali has its fair share according to some of the reviews. It seems like from Denali_Bug's post there are a lot of problems with the previous Denali models.

Has anyone had problems with hesitation from the 5.3 in the Tahoe when it is switching from 4 cylinders back to 8?

We are going to test drive both of them next week. The dealers are within a few miles.

I have the 5.3 in a silverado and no noticeable hesitation in switching from 4 to 8 cylinders, there is a noticeable resistance to downshifting in my transmission but i don't have the six speed.

My 5.3 hesitates when I need to accelerate in a hurry. I pretty much have to floor it to take off. From what I was told, that is a problem that can't even be helped with a custom tune. (which I have) My 04 with the 5.3 and same gears responded much better.
