Tsb On Ebony Seat

Keep us posted if anything actually fixes this problem for anyone. I have filed an email complaint already, and never heard back, it has been at least a couple of months since then.

I have not been back to my dealer because of the canceled TSB.

MAKE SURE to call in your complaint, get a complaint reference number and the name and extention of the rep you spoke with and stay in contact with them, bother them if you have to but try to be polite as possible.

Just got my call from the regional manager. She said they are aware that this is a problem. They are "researching" it. I asked how long they would need to "research" it and she said it could be weeks or months. This is in addition to the six months they have already spent researching it.

I then said "is it accurate to say that eventually you will fix my seats?" She said she couldn't say that but unofficially she believed they would.

I just placed a call to GM again about this issue. I would expect to hear back from them in the next few days. This will be the second time I have called them. I believe, even more important than calling the first time, it is imperative to call back and check in so as to make it obvious that the people are not going to forget and simply let it slide once they've had their trucks for a while.

If you have not placed a call and spoken with a rep, please do so. If you have, please call back to check in from time to time to let them know they really do need to find a solution.

Guys - I have called, I have written letters, I have e-mailed, I have discussed with the SM at the dealership in person, on the phone, and I have been on conference calls with the dealership and a GM rep. The only thing I can say, from my perspective is, GM has done nothing on this matter, GM continues to have a different response each and every time a discussion ensues, and the liklihood that GM will do anything would seem quite remote. This has been dragging on for more than six months!

At one time, a rep from GM indicated she would call me every Thursday afternoon at 1:30 to give me a progress report. First Thursday, I got a call. That was it. No more calls. After three weeks I called her and left a message. I left a message five days in a row, with not one call back. Finally, I called and she answered. Her response, "Why you calling me, I don't know what's going on with this issue. Call the dealer, they know before we do."

The last conversation I had with a GM rep, I was told that GM is having a hard time finding a vendor to supply material for the covers. What? How long has GM been in business? They can't find a vendor? Then a few minutes later, he indicated that there was not a problem with the seats anyway, that the lint was not caused by the seats, but by the clothing people wore. So like we should drive around au natural? It was obvious from his tone, that there was no interest in finding any sort of true resolve.

Guys,

I called GM yesterday and asked about any progress on this issue. I was informed that a solution is in the works, whereas last time I was informed that a decision had not been reached as to whether or not there would be a forthcoming solution at all. She would not commit to anything but did say she believed it would be sometime around July that the replacement covers would be ready. She also said that the volume of concern about this situation was astounding and that GM was well aware and working to solve it.

Unfortunately, it sounds like a lot of the frustration some of you are feeling is a product of shitty customer service.

I just hope the ladies who have been talking with me are as correct as they have been courteous.

I was told the same thing back in late November, solution is in the works - except it was going to be sometime after the first of the year. Well, that came and went. My last conversation was about a month ago. It was then I decided to forget about any resolution from GM and ordered some Katzkins. Guy made it sound like I was the only one who had complained. So whey the TSB that was retracted?, I asked. No response. I agree with you on the quality of customer service. Unfortunately, many of the folks you talk to when calling the toll-free number are not even GM employees, but work for another company contracted by GM.

Well for all those who still care and are bothered by this issue, I finally got my answer back from my rep at GM who was looking into this for me and was "optimistic" that she could help.

She could not, she said that there will be a fix for it someday but they cant assist in anyway.

I told her that I would most likely never buy another GM product on principal alone. She did however give me an address to write a letter of formal complaint. This should be interesting to say the least. I encourage all who are willing to write to the address below. I believe that if enough people write in, we could get something done.

ATTN: Rick Wagner

P.O. Box 33170

Detroit MI, 48232-5170

For those of you who might not know, Rick Wagner is the CEO of General Motors.

That IS an interesting address. Write a letter to it, meh, will it really do that much more good? I'm certain he is fully aware of the issue, and likely is aware of the reason for the delayed fix. So, he'll likely take the letter and send it back down the command chain to be placed with all our other complaints, in the file labeled "13".

I would say there is a 15% chance this will be taken care of in the next three months. Probably 19% by the anniversary of the old TSB.

What I do is time how long it takes me to clean my seats every weekend. I then call GMC and waste at least that much of their time. I just keep them on the phone as long as I can. I like to see how long they can talk without actually saying or committing to anything. They really are truly amazing. I just let them drivel on about nothing and when they stop I just say "But, what does that mean? When will my seats be fixed?" They go on for five more minutes etc. etc. It accomplishes nothing but it does amuse me.
