Has anybody priced the complete set of leather skins through gmpartsdirect.com? I read it to say $101 for each side.

Those seats look fantastic Mazz. Give us more details, please! Where did you order them from? How difficult was the install?

That seems low, but is entirely possible. The only problem with that is you would be getting the standard GM "leather". If your gonna upgrade, you might as well upgrade.

Thanks. I ordered them through a group buy on another forum. I'd been pricing them and he had the best price by almost $90 for the complete set. Delivery took about four weeks.

Install on the back seats was fairly easy and quick. The font center seat was a real pain. The outer two buckets up front were not too bad, but the driver's seat with power was a bit difficult to get the bottom cover installed. The head rests were the most difficult, until I put a plastic bag over and set the end of the vacuum cleaner hose right on the foam. Then they were a piece of cake.

Install took me two days. It was necessary to disconnect the negative cable on the battery to prevent the air bags from popping. Seems if you don't, when you unplug the seats you run the risk of the air bags going off. I also had to take the truck into the dealer following the install to have the seat sensors re-zeroed for the air bag system. If you take your time, collect your thoughts, and work in a methodic way, it's not too bad to do the install. If I were to do another one, I could probably cut my time by four hours.

As far as factory leather goes, from what I've been told by one of the techs at the dealer, the factory leather covers will not fit properly on seats that originally had cloth. Apparently there are some differences between the substrates (foam and frame?). Perhaps why when I ordered my seats, Katzkins wanted to know if the vehicle had cloth or leather from the factory.

Anyone else know about this? When I asked the dealership how much it would cost for leather they quoted 1200. Seemed like a lot for covers. I wonder if they were figuring new seats as well?

He could make a killing at $250/install.

Yeah, I'd end up killing me. My hands and fingers got really chewed up, not to mention the bruises to my hands.

But you're making the self installation sound ever so tempting.

Well, if you are asking me, I think they are going to do nothing. Or if they do it will be years from now. It's been six months. They cancelled select cloth seats to replace them with premium which also has the same problem. The same seats we have problems with are going on the 2009's, not a new seat without problems. Seems to me that as time goes on they have a bigger outlay of $ to fix the problem. I've spoken to several regional service people and local warranty supervisors, they don't care if you are pissed about the seats or not.

I agree and I just can't take the problems I am having with the pilling and lint anymore. I ordered Katzkins today, in a few weeks I won't have to deal with the pilling or lint.
