Does anyone know how many people (and reported it) have this problem? If there only a few of us in this boat, our voice wont be heard as loudly as 100,000 people complaining.

as for me, I wont tolerate this much longer.

I asked the regional service manager I spoke to. He said it wasn't relevent to our discussion. He also said it doesn't matter if tons of people call in. GM is already "looking into this issue".

I know there are 5 others at my local dealership complaining. As far as how many complain to GM, who knows. I had to fight with them holding a copy of the TSB before anybody would even comment. Who know how many people were just blown off and not given a complaint #.

Problem is, there is nothing you can do. Only thing you can do is vote with your dollars next time. I can't really see myself buying a different brand. In the grand scheme of things, why does GM if you are pissed? Or a thousand people?

Like I said before.....What the hell is there for GM to "look into"?

The damn seats collect lint... :troll:

:lol::lol: END OF STORY! :lol::lol:

Meh, I've just gotten used to the fact that I have linty seats. The rest of my truck is perfect, so its a problem that I can easily live with. Nobody complains about it, they just ask if I have a dog when they see some fur on the seats. I say, "Yes" and they say "Cool". If they have a problem with the little bit dog fur, then tough. I had four good-lookin' girls in my truck heading to a party last Saturday, and none of them complained about the lint/fur...and they are the type of girls who would complain if their hair is out of place. If they didn't complain, it would almost be a little degrading for me to complain about some lint.

I usually spend a few hours outside on a nice day every other week just cleaning the truck. It takes maybe 5-10 minutes to clean the inside of the truck, which doesnt bother me.

Yup. I'll put my helmet on. Someone will be pissed about this post.

I'm not pissed at all. I think it's great that your seats don't bother you. I wish mine didnt bother me.

I've stopped cleaning mine everyday. When people ask why they look like shit I just tell them GM has engineers looking into this issue. That just impresses the hell out of them. :) I've been using the line myself lately.

My girls says "why isn't the trash out?"

I say "I have engineers looking into this issue."

She says "why do you need engineers to look at this for six months, just take the damn trash out."

I say "I have engineers looking into this issue, that is all the information I have at this time. Can I help you with anything else?"

She says "what?"

I say "I'm closing your case at this time feel free to follow up with the garbage man."

She says "what's he going to do? you have to take it to the curb."

I say 'OK, so can I help you with anything else?"

It confuses the hell out of people when you keep talking jibberish in the face of direct questions. I just keep switching between "engineers", "all the info at this time", and "can I help you with anything else" till she gives up. Sometimes I just act like issue never existed in the first place. That really throws her for a loop.

Thanks GM. You've taken my issue avoidance skills to another level.

Alright guys guess who I just got done talking to?...Our area GM service rep.!

And guess what I ask him?!...He-He :D

He told me there is nothing on new seat covers yet,Hmm....imagine that!! :)

He said what GM "probably" means when then say that they are "looking into" the issue,is that they want to know what changed,In other words...why is this new material/fabric on our GMT900 trucks collecting lint, and the material/fabric on the GMT800/GMT400 trucks does not collect lint.

I ask him why they don't just use the same material/fabric that was on the GMT800/GMT400 trucks.....He said they want to be sure they have the issue resolved before they issue new seat covers,OoooKaaa :sigh: I told him the fix....USE THE MATERIAL/FABRIC FROM THE OLD TRUCKS!!!! :fume:

Sorry,I know thats not what you guys wanted to hear but thats the answer I got.

I would try that but I am an engineer :sigh: Definately not one of those GM engineers, or a sanitation engineer but still.

Granted I've only had my truck 2 months or so, but I haven't noticed the lint too much on mine. Maybe I'm just a slob so it doesn't bother me. :fume:

My wild guess is that it's the new fabric.

What issue. Just don't use the same covers you have on now and they should be OK.

OoooKaaa :sigh: I told him the fix....USE THE MATERIAL/FABRIC FROM THE OLD TRUCKS!!!!

Or the seat fabric from almost any other car or truck on the road

:fume:

Oh to live in a world where everybody isn't full of shit. What if they just said "We don't know if we are going to fix it cause it might cost us more than its worth. You already paid us for the truck so we don't have a lot of motivation. That guy from India at the call center that you bug three times for 15 min costs us about 73 cents. Compare that to the cost of covers and it's just not worth it. The only thing that's gonna happen is next time you will spring for leather"

At least I could respect an answer like that.
