Tsb On Ebony Seat

Well im sick of waiting on this mystery "fix". Been following this thread for a while and blownchevelles seats look great, alot better than most do it yourselfs i've seen. So i took a trip to classic soft trim in St. Louis. Man what a differance in quality over the gm leather. Alot softer, comfortable, and yet thicker and tougher feeling than the GM leather. So i looked at the owners nbs chevy and a few customers rigs that were getting worked on, and IM SOLD. Originally price was 1250.99, i talked them down to an even 1000.00. Not as good of a price as blownchevelle got, but im happy with it.

New leather will be in truck on thursday the 12th, i will post pics. But finally i will be rid of the lint roller seats and i am keeping the old covers so when/if GM offers a fix i will have them to shove down their throats. :uhoh: Again, if you guys are looking at leather out of your own pocket, check out Classic Soft Trim.

Let us know! St. Louis isn't too far from here if I keep this beast.

I just bought a 2008 Sierra with the dust and lint collecting seats, and I was glad to see this post, even though it is quite old (which tells me the problems has been going on for a while). These seats are crap. I wear a black uniform to work, and I need to de-lint myself each day when I get to work. Where the hell does all this lint and crap come from? Anyway, I am calling the dealership tomorrow and complaining. Then an e-mail off to GMC Canada. This should have been rectified a long time ago.

If you're up for the road trip... sure. But there are 4 classic soft trim locations in indiana. Lawrence, Evansville, Fort Wayne, and Mishawaka.

I know exactly how to fix 50% of the lint issue within extended cabs.

Remove the rear seats! :( Hahahaha.

Well, I tried to be funny and failed. But hey, I'm now 50% lint free! Haha.

I know how to get rid of 100% of the lint! Just picked up truck, and all i can say is wow, and thank god my lint problem is fixed!

I have owned many gm vehicles with leather, (past) 2002 2500HD 8.1, SSR-V, 76' stingray, (present) corvette z06, 2004 escalade. all with leather so i can unbiasly make the statement that this Classic Soft Trim leather is far far above the quality of GM factory leather. Its just softer, thicker, and a higher overall quality. I love it, i do realize in a way I gave GM a "pass" on this one, but im happy. And besides i have my old covers incase there ever is a "fix" so i can get my replacements out of them. Here are a few pics. Leather color is actually black, but came across on the camera as sorta graphite.

That looks great Jamison....now my next question is if my next mod should be exhaust or leather. I can't believe GM hasn't done anything about this yet.

I would def go with the leather, i have done both and the stress and angst i felt everytime i checked this thread and everytime i climbed in my truck is gone now, they really dropped the ball on this one. But the quality is high, way better than the escalade leather, and did i mention, NO MORE LINT?

Hey Rich, it has been a while since we've gotten an update from GM on this. Can you call to make sure there is nothing new going on?

And Jamison, your seats are too damn nice now. Some tar, feathers, and a fan would get it feeling just like it used to.

HA HA, oh god i would hope not, I really hope GM makes this right real soon. I just couldn't wait, and besides i kinda regreted not getting leather to begin with. But now since i seen the quality of Classic Soft Trim, im glad it worked out. I was really surprised how many new GM vehicles WITH factory leather that were at the shop getting switched out with the aftermarket leather. With what i know now my next new truck i buy will have the cheapest cloth available, because its going straight from the dealer to CST.

I don't even care about the lint as much now. I am worried about the fabric holding up! I already had my lower half of the driver's seat replaced with only 32,000 miles.

I have heard tales of lower sections of seats getting replaced at 12,000 miles. GM really dropped the ball on this one. The lint is mind numbing  . But you are right the thin spots and pilling started on my truck already, and i only have 5400 miles on it.

I am mailing my old covers to the CEO as a big linty F**K YOU!pluckyou2ih4.gif

Nope,No update yet.

Our GM area service rep. was in last week,When I ask him about them he just shrugged his head and said..."nothing yet"

I'm waiting just like everyone else,I hate leather and WILL NOT put it in my truck.
