Tsb On Ebony Seat

Well my truck finally goes in tomorrow for a Katzkin makeover. I've been so dissappointed with the look of these seats that I have a hard time getting up the energy to clean the truck at all, I'll be so glad when this is done. As far as my attempt at getting GM to pay for the labor to change the material they did offer to give me a full set of factory GM seat covers which I took, promptly returned and I'll use the cash to pay for the change over. Not the best outcome but hey what else can you do. I'll tell you though that it's going to be alot harder to by a GM next time after the way they are handling things lately.

Hmmm, if that is the case, hope you like the other offerings.

It's not so much about me liking the other offerings. It is more about me not being able to stand getting shit on. It's not like we need to punish GM. Odds are today that they will go bankrupt in less time than they have been "working" on this issue.

I have been down the "Get GM to fix this" route before like many others and if it isn't a safety issue there is a 99.999999% chance they wont do squat.

I have one of these brushes (and it will remove the lint in one swipe), kindof a one way cloth, you clean the brush by brushing backwards hence the left and right.

I tried it on a friends truck, and he almost beat the shit out of me when I tried to take the brush back home. He told me he would return it to me when he got his new one. He had tried everything.

I'm on hold right now with Scott Seger, regional manager. He is, I'm sure, calling the dealership for information. The fact that this is a worthless act doesn't register to him. He will get back on and tell me the dealership doesn't have any info. Why the dealership would know when new seat covers are produced is a mystery to all.

Scott Seger is a god damn genious. He got me sorted out.

Man was I was way off. It turns out the dealership is the best source of new information. So there you go guys. Just ask the dealership.

The other offerings you refer to might have there own problems as well but for all the business I've given to GM in the past I feel I deserve better treatment than what I have received. Trust me, everyone that I know is aware of this problem and GM's lack of action and I will continue to tell anyone that will listen. I got screwed over on this truck because of GM dropping there prices by almost $10,000 within months of buying it and then got screwed again by a problem that would have devalued my truck even more. Like hell if GM will ever get another penny out of me regardless of the fact I still think they are the best truck on the road.

I can understand the seat lint problem, but you won't buy another GM because of a problem that is out of their control? Gas prices went up, they have to move the trucks that were built. Simple supply and demand.

it does suck, but everybody has their thoughts on the problem. Personally I would stick Wet Okole seat covers and be done with it, but that is my thought.

The price drop wasn't due to gas prices it was due to the fact that they had overinflated the Canadian MSRP for years and when the dollar adjusted they, and every other manufacturer, got caught and had to adjust prices to compensate for all the Canadians suddenly going south of the border to buy there new vehicles.

I don't think having to put seat covers on a brand new vehicle is an acceptable solution. My seats were just fine on my 95, 97, 99, 02 and now in 07 they are suddenly lint collectors, thats just not right.

I don't want to turn this into a bitch session so this is all I'll say on this.

Thanks
