Tsb On Ebony Seat

If somebody could tell me were to get the part numbers for cloth and leather I could add up the cost myself. MS#DALE has already given the part numbers for the new covers now I need to get the price for those.

MS#DALE would GM intertain the thought of this or we barking up the wrong tree?

I'm going to say no,But "I think" a couple guys on here got GM to install leather and they paid the difference (from cloth to leather)

It wouldn't hurt to ask!

I was at a dealership the other day and looked at the '09 Sierras that had cloth seats and they looked different from my current seats. The only thing was they looked kinda ugly, I did not like them at all. All GM did was change the middle material, but the bolsters looked to be the same material as the current ones. I think I will just deal with the lint on my seats until I can save enough to get leather.

I got my truck back from the dealership today with new seats installed (the only things they didn't complete were the headrests and the back of both passenger and driver's seats). The parts are in order and they will contact me as soon as they come in. Here are a few pics of new seats.

Hmmm.

Those seats look exactly like the ones in my 2009 Sierra except mine are ebony. Are the "linty seats" the same pattern as the ones in TIGREPORVIDA's pictures or are they different?

I am still trying to figure out if my dark titanium seats would be covered? The centers are dark gray, but the bolsters are black. I've called 2 dealerships here, both pretty much blew me off.

blackgold.

I didn't see that colour combination in any of the trucks I've looked at. Is yours a special model of truck or special order or something?

Cheers, lvlagnum.

No, it's a work truck option I guess? The truck is an LS, but was factory upgraded from a WT from the factory I guess?

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!! This is my opininon exactly of the supposed fix.

I got my truck back today.........The middle looks like it will attract and hold less lint, but is rather "downgraded"?? maybe?? Just looks lower end.

The bolsters appear to be the same lint magnets, time will tell.

If you can get them to let you pay the difference for leather, do it, if it is reasonable.

I will save for leather,..........GM had the chance to fix this, and they took the time to fix this, but they didn't.

Here are some pics.

Until they get something figured out, anybody have suggestions on affordable seat covers? I've had my truck 3 weeks and it looks like a Chia pet exploded inside.

Do you know if they just worked with their dealer on this or GM directly?

Thanks

Hello, gundark81.

Maybe, just maybe, if you were to get yourself a big shaggy dog, it would eventualy look like someone loved you enough to knit you a custom set of seat covers.

I'M JUST KIDDING!!!

Seriously though, I'm in the same boat as the rest of you. I'm still waiting to find out if my 2009 Sierra Crew Cab has the same seat fabric as you. Right now, the upholstery fabric that is in the 2003 Slverado I just traded in, looks better and better.

Cheers, lvlagnum.

I went into my service department, showed them the Service Paper and my lint filled seats and came to an agreement with the service manager. They would pay for 1/2 the leather material and installation at a upholstery shop. I went with Katzkin and at the end of the day I think it cost me about $400.00 as opposed to almost $1200.00 if I was to do it on my own. How he did what he did I am not sure (getting GMC to pay for as much as they did), but it solved the problem and gained my appreciation and respect, something that I rarely give out to an automotive dealership.
