Tsb On Ebony Seat

Why would they need to order a speaker to install new seat covers? I am very confused by that..

On a side note, my dealer ordered the covers from the latest TSB about 2 weeks ago and I have heard nothing. They would also not do any leather upgrade or anything similar like alot of other users have quoted here.

Well, just bought used neoprene Coverking covers from another member on this site for the front seats only and that fixed this problem for good. GM is obviously not going to take care of it, they have bigger things to worry about.

Katzkins would have been my preference but just couldn't justify the price tag.

Glad that worked for you but I am not wanting to install a cheap pair of seat covers to cover up the problem that GM needs to address..

If these new TSB seat covers don't look any better when I get them installed, I am paying for leather and never buying another GM vehicle..

Which trim level models and build dates does the tsb cover? I've got the ebony seats in my Sierra but I haven't really notcied them collecting lint. Then again I rarely drive it so much would't collect anyways.

There are some great options out there when it comes to seat covers. Some look nice, some look crappy. CoverKings neoprene covers fit like a glove. I'll try to get some pictures posted a little later.

I agree that GM should fix this problem by installing leather if the customer is willing to fork over the difference, but face it, it's not going to happen. They have released their "fix" and they know that if their "fix" is that damn impressive, then word will spread fast and they will be re-covering millions upon millions of trucks. So they purposely made the fix slightly better than before, so they can say they did something but not good enough so that everyone will want their seats re-covered (like me).

Had my truck in last week to fix the oil leak that two different dealerships said did not exist, but that is a different thread. After they finally found the leak and fixed it, I brought up the TSB about the seat covers. The service manager agreed to order the new covers but said they were back ordered. I will post if anything happens.

It was in for a couple items for them to look at; the blown speaker and the seats were 2 of the items.

All of '07 and most of '08 with LT package (convinced "LT" stands for Lint Truck). Don't drive mine much either but seats literally act as a lint brush. Great for getting the cat hair off my clothes. Brush your hand down the seams where the two types of fabric meet, you will find it.

Was going to post some pics of my seat covers but figured it's pointless because I just found these pics on another site. Looks exactly like this, except ignore the ugly center console cover. I didn't put that on at all, because it fits like crap.

Food for thought. GM is dragging their feet on the supply of the new covers until most trucks are out of warranty. That way they don't have to fix them for free.

Na...If you have a complaint in (And documented on an RO) before the warranty is out they will still cover it.

Old Topic, I know, but i'm curious, has anyone recieved their covers from GM yet? I just had mine installed yesterday and they don't look half bad...pretty pleased with them...I'll post pics later this evening if anyone is interested.

Yes, I had mine done a while ago. The material they put on looks exactly like what came in my truck when it was new.

Including the lint???
