Tsb On Ebony Seat

The reason they will not do anything with out a new TSB is because the old one told them not to. Because, the parts were not available. There should be a new TSB advising no action be taken if they are going to approach it from the aspect that the seat covers need to wear in and the problem will go away.

I finally fired off an email to GM over this lint problem yesterday and got a call back from a rep last night. Same old crap. We are aware of the problem, we are working on the problem , no solution at this time. They did say they are going to contact the dealer, I'm not sure what good that is going to do, but the rep is suppose to call me back tonight. I even had a fabric protector applied to the seats before delivery, that sure seems to be a waste of time. If this problem does subside over time...how much time are we talking about?

So Today, the dealership told you they would put new seat covers on and pay the labor as well?? My dealership knows nothing about that..

i asked about the seat cover replacement for the ebony cloth and they said they are free and the labor is free as well....

Make that two....

ashley chevrolet in honesdale PA. They had a TSB that says the ebony seats have a problem with lint and they are to be replaced...they ordered the new seat covers for someone else as well and I saw them they look about the same but supposedly repel lint better. I asked if there would be any charge and they said none. Labor and seat covers were no charge per GM! I dont just make this stuff up guys.

Never said or implied you made anything up.. I was just saying my dealership knows nothing about a new TSB for this issue.. I wonder if that dealership is using the old TSB. If they are, the seatcovers they ordered are not available.

If you do end up getting your new seat covers, let everyone here know how it goes..

Glad you're getting some back-up by your dealer. I shipped mine off yesterday too and am waiting for some response. I wasn't inferring you were BS-ing either, just stating that I wasn't getting the same treatment.

My sales rep at the dealer is a good friend of mine and I forwarded him this site, the links, etc..

We'll see where this gets me. I'll keep you posted.

This was a few months ago and they got the new covers in. They look just like the old ones but the center isnt a fuzzy materiel its smooth and shiney. I decided not to do it because my truck is my only mode of transportation right now and the wife has the other. Its really not worth it IMO. Unless they changed the materiel recently.

I talked to a Gm rep last nite and the dealership service manager this morning and neither one mentioned a new TBS or a solution at this time. But then again I'm in Canada

I had the TSB done on my front seats awhile ago and they had the back seats on back order. I had my truck in for work recently and rode in the old seats i thought they were much more comfortable than the "new" seats. The new covers are the covers for the work truck!!!! I am wondering now if i can go back. Since the truck is only half done at this point. Maybe i can get lucky on this!!!!

The more I think about it, the more im leaning towards waiting till someone from the area totals a Denali, and taking those premium seats (as well as a few other parts) off the hands of a wrecker.

My Service Mgr. knew nothing about it, but the Parts Dept guy said he had personally experienced what I was talking about. I don't think GM is going to take care of it.

just keep a freaking lint roller in the truck and quit complaining! Dont buy black cloth seats next time! I get lint but I clean it with lint roller and the problem is all gone! Well 4 a couple days but oh well...I'm not gonna let them change mine if they're gonna put a cheaper seat cover in....If it drives u guys that nuts go spend a couple hundred on some leather seat covers and be done with this thread!

What i was told by my GM rep was that the problem lessens with wear, adn GM would not be doing anything about it. Ive found that i no longer have a lint problem after only 3000 KM's. Still might pick up some $50 seat covers though.
