It is expensive but absolutely the best product of it's kind on the market. There are a few others that are very similar because they purchase the base chem from Chevron. I have used this stuff for years and believe in it.

Hey Trey,

Do you happen to know what other brands are using the chevron formula? I noticed there was a Shell fuel system concentrate on sale and the bottle looked suspiciously like the chevron bottle. I like to stock up when the stuff is on sale.

GM motors are notorious for carbon build-up. I use chevron every 3000 miles to keep the system clean.

I think chevron makes the GM fuel system cleaner you can buy at the dealership, but I could be wrong. Maybe someone else could confirm.

Gumout makes a product called Regane Maximum Fuel System Cleaner (part # 7727) and it is my understanding it is the same basic formula as Techron. Also, MMM makes a premium cleaner that is said to be the same as well. I cannot promise you these 2 or the exact same as Techron but I have been told they are made with the same base chem that is used produced by Techron.

All of the Techron produced in the world is produced just south of New Orleans in a community called Belle Chasse. A guy my Wife went to school with works as a Mechanincal Engineer for them in the plant. He knows nothing about the product they produce but helps keep the plant producing.

Could follow this line. I'm pretty sure that Shell uses Techron in their gas as well.

I do try to only put Chevron gas in when I can. When I can I do dump a bottle in on occasion. I did notice everytime I do put in a bottle, I get a misfire every now and then. Its usually within 25 miles. I assume its getting out some old carbon and doing what it was designed to do .

I used some for the first time on my last tank of gas. I couldn't notice any seat of the pants difference but I did get about 1/2 mpg better on that tank. May add more on the next tank & see how it does.
