I Just Bought My First Gmc!

I just drove home my new 2008 GMC Sierra 1500! I'm pumped! I got a great deal on it and had zero hassles.

A question though - I want to get Line X sprayed on. What are the pros/cons of Line X Xtra? I know it's suppose to be stronger with the Kevlar, but are there any disadvantages? Maybe it's not as noise dampening, or cracks easier?

Also, do you guys recommend that the spray goes on the top of the bed rails as well, or no? Any pictures of it on and with it off?

Congrats on an excellent truck buy! Do a search on the Line-X stuff and you'll get loads of info. Don't have it myself so I can't chime in on it.

I had mine Line-x'd before I picked my truck up from the dealer. I had it done over the rails for a little extra protection and it looks GREAT! Not sure of the X-tra, but I read up on it. All I know is that a buddy of mine had his done like 7-8 years ago and it is still holding up so I couldnt justify the extra cash.

This is the only pic I have of it but shows over the rails....

Had it done before I picked up from the dealer (not the kevlar option). Looks great and adds a little xtra protection to the bed. Chose to get GM bed rail caps instead of over the rails as I was afraid they would not make it straight enough on both sides. Rail caps match the tailgate cap so it looks better IMO.

Great choice of truck, congrats. Go with over the rail line-x, and forget about the x-tra stuff, not worth it IMO.

I just have the regular Line-X, but I love it. Here are some pics, as well as some pics of the boards I had sprayed to make a bed divider. I wouldnt get the X-tra unless you want it to match your truck color.

I wouldn't complain either. That really is a beautiful truck you got there. Those rims make the whole truck look so much better, great choice.

If your already getting the box sprayed, i would suggest going over the rails at the same time. Its not that much extra, and itll keep em looking good for a long time to come.
