Passenger Window

I have a 2008 Sierra, and wanted to ask you all that also have similiar trucks: are you able to tap the passenger window button (on the driver side armrest) and the window will automatically open all the way, like the driver side window? No problems with the driver side one, but my 2005 Sierra also opened the passenger window the same way, but this truck does not. So I am asking you before I call the dealership and scehdule a fix.

Neither the driver side or passenger side have AUTO printed on the buttons.

Mine is the same. Only the driver side has the auto feature.

They could operate the power windows or other controls or even make the vehicle move. The windows will function and they could be seriously injured or killed if caught in the path of a closing window. Do not leave keys in a vehicle with children.

 

When there are children in the rear seat use the window lockout button to prevent unintentional operation of the windows.

If your vehicle has power windows, the controls are located on each of the side doors in the front and rear for crew cab and extended cab models.

 

The driver's door has a switch for the passenger's and rear windows as well. Your power windows will work when the ignition has been turned to ACCESSORY or RUN or when Retained Accessory Power (RAP) is active. See Retained Accessory Power (RAP) .

 

Press the switch down to lower the window, and pull up the front of the switch to raise the window.

 

Express Down Windows

Vehicles with the express down feature allow the driver and front passenger windows to be lowered without holding the switch. Press down fully on the window switch, then release, to activate the express down mode. The express down mode can be canceled at any time by pulling up on the switch. To open the window partway, press the switch to the first depression position, until the window is at the desired position.

 

Window Lockout

(Window Lockout): If your crew cab or extended cab vehicle has power windows, the driver's door power window switch has a lockout feature. The lockout switch is located in front of the window switches. This feature prevents the rear windows from operating, except from the driver's position. Press the switch to engage or disengage the lockout feature. An indicator light on the switch will come on when the lockout feature is engaged, and will go off when disengaged.

I do not know if that is Crew Cab specific or if it is available with the extended cabs as well (or the regular cabs for that matter)

My controls are identical to the drawing that you showed, and reading the para (b), it states that both passenger and driver window should go down automatically (Express Mode). This is the reason I am asking the question and see if it is just my truck, or others as well. The rear windows roll down manually, and can be locked out.

My apologies then, I do not have a extended cab GMT900....hey daddy and anybody else with a GMT900 ECRB, give this guy a hand!!!!

I have to double check mine when I get home,but I'm almost positive that my passenger side DOES have the express down feature.

Keep in mind though that mines an '07 and they could've changed it for '08.

I'll have to try out some trucks here on the lot when I get a minute.

08 Crew Cab. Drivers window goes down with one touch, passengers does not.

I just double-checked my Sierra. Driver and Passenger side front windows both auto-down.

Yep,I just double checked mine now that I'm home,It has auto-down on both sides,and no matter what switch I use,driver or passenger,its auto-down either way.

 

On a side note,I checked our parts truck which is an '07 regular-cab 2500HD,and it does NOT have the auto-down feature on the passenger side.

 

Again these are both '07 trucks,They must have changed it for '08.

My 07 cc SLE1 passenger side does not have auto down feature either. I would like to add it though.

 

MS3DALE - Is this feature in the switch? Can I change my switch out for one that has the auto down for the pass. side?

My 08 LT1 Xtra Cab 1500 Silverado does not have the auto down on the pass side. Only the drivers side. I would be interested if we can find a way to make it work as well.
