Nbs Interior

I sat in a NBS Sierra the other day and the interior door skins were pretty ugly. they were all black with a wrinkle finish. is that how they all are?

Yep, but its supposedly so much nicer a material...

Materials are the same old plastic, fit is better though.

They've also learned how to make an interior a uniform color in the GMT900s. The interior of my 2000 LT was supposed to be a single color..."Graphite", however, it was rally about 7 shades of everything between light grey and black, as they couldn't make the color the same across all the plastics and fabrics.

The quality of the interior of the GMT900 really is significantly improved overall over the GMT800. At least when comparing the leather LT and LTZ packages. Can't comment on the GMT900 "work truck" interior.

I'm very happy with my WT interior. Mine has the Black seats with grey inserts front and rear. I did opt for the carpet package instead of the rubber flooring.

I've had both GMT-800 & GMT-900 trucks, and I've got to say that the GMT-900 is by far the best interior that GM has ever made in a truck.

The door panels are a little lame... with that football texture. I will say that the seats are the most comfy on long trips of any vehicle I have ever owned. Major improvement in my book.

I agree about the GMT900 interior, but my GMT400 w/ buckets is a close 2nd IMHO. I skipped GMT800.

I don't mind the wrinkle look of the GMT900, but I have to say I did like the GMT800 surface finish better. It cleaned up a lot easier then this surface, almost like this seems to hold small dirt particles, just like the seats hold lint. Hmmm. I use 303 Protectant on the dash and door panels, and sometimes it takes a bit of a scrubbin' to get it cleaned up. Oh well, better then having a plywood dash.

I liked the look of my GMT800 interior way better than my GMT900. Out of all the things I love about my truck, that was the one and only thing that made me second-guess getting it. I like the layout and seats (comfort-wise) a lot better.

FWIW, I wasn't overly impressed by the new Ford and definitely not the new Toyoyoyoyo interiors. Haven't seen a dodge.

are you glad you upgraded to the NBS? I am still on the fence about trading in my 06 Sierra

I just upgraded my 1995 Sierra. I have been seriously considering upgrading to a GMT800 for a couple years now. My dad has a 2005 that I love and I still think is an awesome truck. I didn't pull the trigger on an 800 because I knew the 900s where on there way. I am glad I waited!!! IMO, there is no comparison between my truck and my dad's. Like I said, I love his truck and enjoy driving it, but comfort wise from seats to ride quality this is the best truck I have ever been in (blue oval, dog, toyo, nissan).

If you are on the fence about it, I say have your dealer let you take one on an overnight test drive. My wife hated trucks, she wanted me to get a car or small SUV. Then, I took now my current truck on an overnight, she fell in love with it and we take it almost everywhere now.

With only owning my 08 LTZ for just about 3 weeks now, I think that the new interior is overall much better. I like the dash layout but so far I find that the HVAC controls are a little too low and the icons are pretty small. I haven't driven the truck at night yet and I hope that the small icons won't be a problem. While I'm not a big fan of wood trim, there is just enough to make the interior look classy. My truck has the graphite interior and I think the wood would look much better in the cashmere interior.

The seats in the GMT900 LTZ seem to be much firmer than they were in my 99 LT and also seem to be narrower. I liked the fold-up armrests in my old truck but the new truck with the wider console lid makes up for not having them in the new seats.

The texture of the dash and door skins look better IMHO, but I think that they may hold dirt because of the texture.

I was my 99 in 2002. It was a Regular Cab, Short Box, 2WD, 4.3L V6. I loved it. My little sister drives it now. I was able to move all through college, had plenty of power (enough to get me in trouble  ), was easy on the gas, rode smooth as a Cadillac, etc.

I bought my 2007 in March 2008. It is a Crew Cab, 4WD, 5.3L V8. I honestly can't say there is one thing worse about this truck. This interior issue was the only thing, and it has grown on me by now. I kinda like it :dunno: Obviously this truck has TONS more power, it is almost as easy on the gas, and rides damn near the same.

Like 66nova said, you need to drive one to see what we mean. Be careful though, once you drive a GMT900, your GMT800 won't seem nearly as good.

I have the "wood" in my Light Titanium/Dark Titanium, and it's ok. If I had the graphite or ebony interior, I'd definitely swap out the wood pieces for the brushed metal I've seen in some of the Yukons. The brushed metal works with the darker interiors, but i don't think it would look good in a lighter one like mine.

EDIT: my point being, you might want to check out the brushed metal :dunno:

Brushed metal definatley looks better in the ebony interiors. I've got it in mine.
