Computer Tuner

I AM LOOKING FOR A TUNER FOR MY 2008 SILVERADO 1500. NOT SURE ON ALL THERE USES BUT WOULD LIKE TO IMPROVE MY GAS MILLAGE A LITTLE, MAYBE ADD SOME POWER FOR TOWING OR OTHER REASON AS NEEDED. IT SEEMS AS IF I CAN CONTROL MY AMF AS WELL FOR THE V4 OPTION MORE.

 

HOW WILL THIS EFFECT MY WARRANTY WITH GM/CHEVY?

Search is your friend. Have you considered getting a custom tune for your vehicle? As for warranty issues, get a extra set of modules to have your tune done on. Switch back to factory mods when needed.

I bought a HyperTech performance tuner for my 2008 Silverado 1500 5.3L. The only thing I changed was the timing curve to optimize premium fuel burn. Increase in power at the rear wheels is noticable. Gas mileage hasn't changed since the "re-tune" according to the display on the dash at 16.1 mpg average.

 

The computer tuning can be reset to factory status at anytime. Keep in mind that not all features indicated on the HyperTech module spec sheet will actually apply to your year/make/model

If your gonna tune don't bother with a chip or handheld. Waste of money, ask anyone here.

My experience with the Hyperech E-Con tuner was that it resulted in slightly less gas mileage, about .4 MPG less, as measured over about a 1000-1200 mile before and after average. Have no way of measuring any increase in power but was disappointed not to get a little better gas mileage.

I use HP Tuners for my Turbo Grand Prix and plan on getting the license for it to access my truck.
