Has anyone heard when the 09 orders end and 2010's start?

I got this info today

The last day to take orders for Silverado is July 24

Seems kind of late to me.

Ryan,I'd have to ask our GM,But up to July 24th could be possible.

Then again I don't know if they have a concrete or,"set-in-stone" date on when they stop taking orders. (IE-I think it might change from year-to-year or model-to-model)

Hey Rich, I always thought back in the day that the SOP for the new model year trucks were late July, early August....I could be mistaken with the Cadillac lineup...

Back in the early 90's when I retired from GM. All of the asssembly plants would be shut down the first 2 weeks in July for their change overs. They would quit taking order in May. Depending how many units there was in inventory as to which week in May that was. They usually had 90 to 120 day supply in inventory. And that would carry them thru September to the first of October depending on announcement date without too many leftovers. After the 2 week change over production of new units would start the 3rd week of July. Now there were exception to this. If a plant was going through a major change over then the dates would vary. Today with the auto industry the way it is I am not sure what the dates are. I am sure if you contact a GM dealer they could tell you. If they don't know they could contact zone and get that info.

EOP and SOP were in Global Connect (formerly DealerWorld)...that was as recently as last oct/nov (2008)

There was a story yesterday in the papers about GM truck/SUV sales have collapsed and they may have to close 5 more plants, most of them truck/SUV.

So there may be no rush to change over to 2010 due to huge inventory of unsold 2009 units as the story mentioned.

GM likely to close truck, engine, stamping plants

Silverado and Sierra sales combined fell 46 percent in the first two months of the year compared with the same period of 2008.
