New to this forum. Not new to Chevrolet. Just purchased my new 2019 Silverado LT Trail Boss in Northsky Blue. Only extras are tonneau cover and window tint. Love the truck so far.

I've spoken to a good friend who is a 30 + year tech at a North Jersey Chevrolet dealer. So far he has seen two '19 Silverados with blown oil cooler hoses. He said to look for a yellow witness stripe that becomes visible as the hose begins to squeeze out of the crimp. His dealership is looking at each Silverado that comes in for the free oil change. For the record my 9/18 5.3 Ft Wayne truck shows no sign leakage or line distortion at 6500 miles. There are green inspection stripes on my hoses as well.

.. I understand why many members here would want to use a phone holder with a dedicated charger.. the downstream Android Auto USB ports are great for data connectivity but fall far short for charging capability. These USB 2.0 ports spec is 5VDC/0.5A -barely enough to trickle charge a modern smart phone.. couple that with the power demands of GPS and audio streaming and you result in a negative charge rate. A dedicated Qi wireless charger can provide 10W of power or a Qualcomm standard charger can provide fast charge at rated 5,9,12 and even 20VDC bringing charge times measured in hours to minutes.

Finally got some seat covers for my Trail Boss. Kind of a bear installing but they look pretty decent.

I lost the level on my ‘15 and went for a 6.5” Zone lift on 35” Nittos. I’ve been wanting to do this since day one and finally went through with it. I am very pleased with the rides with the Fox 2.5 up front and 2.0 in the rear. Other additions are the headlights, grill, yellow fog light lenses and lights behind the grill I also added a center console with Phil Gamboa’s harness. Mirrors upgrades are next!

So I have 4400 miles on my Silverado... early on, I noticed a faint grinding noise in 2wd while traveling down the road. It quits doing it when I put it in 4wd auto. I want to know if anyone else has noticed this noise... I have found that that it is coming from the transfer case.... dealership has heard it and they replaced it and after driving it another 1000 miles, the noise came back. My dads Silverado makes the same noise. Ive tried to ignore the sound but I can’t.

The wait is over! FINALLY it seems that all of the manufacturers have released their lift kits. So besides the 2” GM lift, who out there has put a RC lift or Procomp, or BDS or fabtech on their new truck yet? Would love to see pics as well please.

A couple of weeks ago I saw an ad or post from Battle Born Off-Road about a behind the grill light bar for the 2019 Silverado. I was quite interested because I have read about problems putting a light bar behind the grill on these new models because of the active shutters in front of the radiator on these trucks. I had a behind the grill light bar on my 2016 Sierra and the extra light really helps on some of the dark areas I roam... I was quite disappointed to find that I may not be able to have the same thing on my 2019 Silverado RST. So Battle Born Off-Road posted an add for a set-up made by Baja Designs. It incorporated their S8 20 inch light bar, a wiring harness and mounting brackets. I inquired about the kit and if it would actually work. These guys called the manufacturer and confirmed it, so I pulled the trigger. The S8 light bar is awesome and it has a pretty slick amber accent light built in. This 20 inch bar really pumps out the light and has focused lenses on the bar. Installation was quite easy and after I got the grill off it took about an hour. The only week part of the kit is the directions in terms of removing the grill on the Silverado... If you are looking for a behind the grill light bar for the Silverado, this kit should top your list. sorry for the picture quality, but it's all I have at the moment.

Anybody out there come up with a slick way to hard wire a permanent power supply for a radar detector on your 2019 Silverado? Seems like it might work, but there's not nearly as much space in the RV mirror cover/molding as there is in earlier models, including the one in the video at the link. Open to any other good ideas......

If you doing this because the power port stays on all the time you can change it to turn on and off with the ignition. In the right instrument panel fuse block, if you move the 50A fuse from F28, and place it in F27 the power ports will only have power when the vehicle is ON, or in RAP (retained accessory power). Basically if the radio is on they will have power. That way you won't have a parasitic drain with your 12V accessories.

I’m not sure of the offset. I had to cut a little bit of the mud flap, just a little overlap of the mud flap and the wheel well. It’s nothing you can see from the exterior.

Went out and purchased most of the parts I need to replace my Denali Chrome. My attempt to create a “Midnight” Denali. Hope to get this on the truck this weekend. The grill is at the painters this week getting painted black.

I got a call today that my new rear window came in and it's going to be hopefully finished by Friday. I sure miss my TB, but I don't mind the RST I have as a loaner.

This. The OnStar app is being replaced by brand-specific ones. There are separate ones for Chevy, GMC, Buick, and Cadillac. They are all identical except for the skins. You can even access all your vehicles from any of the apps (I have a Chevy, Buick, and Cadillac and can get to any of them from any of the brand apps). Your sig shows a 2014. Note that you only get 5 years of remote start capability for free. After that you need to pay for the "Remote Access" plan to keep remote start capability from the app. They want to charge you $15 per month for that but I negotiated $99/year for my parents when I called OnStar (around $9/month after taxes).

Got tired of oiling down the side of my engine with spillover from 5 qt jugs. A little work with a Dremel tool to cut another tab path and a nice steady place for my funnel. You have two tabs at the 12 and 6 positions. I installed a new pump last winter after reading about possible problems. Bought the pump from Amazon $121.00 installed it in about 2 hours did remove the little steering shaft much easer access. Added heated steering wheel while I was working on the truck nice. I work very slow a good mechanic could do it in 1 hour. My truck is a14 SLE with 45000 miles very happy with it tow 21ft trailer perfect. Did get the letter yesterday applied for refund for the pump. Will be buying a new 2020 next year.

First time buying a truck and ended up with this. Have had it for 4 days and I love it.

Finally got my exhaust done and sounding pretty much how I want. My current set up is Texas Speed 1 7/8” longtubes and catted Y pipe, 3” Dynomax intermediate pipe, AFe resonator followed by a Blackwidow Venom 250 muffler with a single side exit Corsa tip out the back. The BW was way too raspy and airy sounding by itself but the resonator seemed to deepen the tone up and got rid of most of that airy sound. I was actually surprised how much it did for no bigger than the casing is. With this set up it is pretty loud on cold starts and you can definitely tell it has long tubes which is I wanted. It calms down pretty quick after the initial start up. Once it’s warm it has a nice little bark on normal start ups. It also has a nice little pop in between shifts which makes it hard to keep my foot out of. I can keep it very tame driving around town but if I want to roll on it a little it will definitely make some noise. Absolutely no drone cruising or at highway speeds. More of just an exhaust pulse that I think you’d get with any set up with headers. I don’t do alot of WOT pulls with this thing but you can definitely feel the power the headers added down low. Where it used to fall on its face, the power is there now. By no means is the truck fast but feels a lot better considering I have 35” tires and 3.42 gears. This is my first truck with longtubes so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Definitely glad I went this route. The only other set up I’d like to try is a Corsa dB or sport muffler. .. so my Samsung S9+ which I keep in a hard case is too big to fit in the OEM wireless charger AND the mylink USB ports don't supply much amperage when connected .. solved with a cheap Qi wireless charger from Amazon that I placed in the otherwise unused pocket on the side of the console.. now I have wireless Fast Charge..and my Android Auto cable is nicely hidden in the side pocket .. and the OEM wireless charger is still available and works great for the wife's S8 so everyone's happy!

I waited all of 8 days to refi with my credit union. Went from a 5.2% to a 2.85%. Dropped my payment by $58. And here's the even better thing about my credit union (EECU) - GAP insurance is only $250, and I got a 5 year bumper to bumper 125,000 mile warranty for $840. Dealership couldn't even get close to that. Good warranty too, I've been using my CU's warranties for years, and they have always covered.

My 2019 Chevy Z71 is doing the same thing. 4,000 miles. So far they have replaced the front drive shaft and that didn't fix it. Now they are in the process of replacing the front differential, been in the shop over 2 weeks now! We'll see how it turns out when I get it back! Unbelievable

Gentlemen, Sorry for the late reply as I've had these installed for well over 2 weeks. I've attached some pictures. The truck was completely leveled with the Bilstein 5100s at the highest setting. Front and rear it was spot on. Some notes: As others have said, take your old strut assembly somewhere to get them swapped. We had a hell of a time. We tried a floor mounted spring compressor to no avail, and the rentable threaded rod tool also. I ended up giving up and taking them to a local shop. Much easier, cost around 45 dollars. The rear installation took about 15 minutes on a lift. Super easy as expected. The ride has improved so much from the stock Ranchos. Those things are garbage. With the wider stance the truck feels much more stable as well. This setup rubbed at about 3/4 to full turn, and reverse was almost un-useable. I went and bought the Rough Country Fender Trim pieces and broke out the angle grinder. This was much easier than I thought it would be, and now i have ZERO rub. Full lock turn, full lock reverse. Can't even tell I did it. I saw people doing the NorCal mod but for 17 dollars, the trim plates seemed like the way to go. This setup is great. Rides great, looks great. I might go with a 4" Fabtech sometime next year. I'm not quite sure. I'm so happy with the ride quality i'm not sure I need to do anything different. I would only consider it to lift the truck up a bit more. The next day I took my truck to get aligned as it was off pretty bad. My Dealer had no issue with early refinancing - at closing they clearly pointed out that there was no penalty for closing the GMF loan early. Went from 5.9 to 3.7 with a drop of ~ 28/month over 72 months - $2000 in interest savings, on top of the $1500 credit by using GMF financing in the first place.

When u lock the doors with your remote, you can’t just push the button on the door to unlock the truck from the inside. The switch won’t work. I guess it’s part of the theft deterrent system. (Can’t put a coat hanger thru the window and hit the button)

Just want to give a HUGE shout out to PGamboa and Chris W. at WAMS for the successful retrofit. I have a 2014 Silverado Z71 LT and was able to upgrade Navigation to the 2018 version along with the Blue Denali Dash. All functions are working!

Well, thanks to WAMS, I got my cluster today and installed it. There is a couple things... I lost my trip info. It has the trip info from the original truck the cluster came out of. Which i wish I really had. I reset it all the day I bought it. So trip B had totals from the day I bought it. Trip A was weelky fill ups and mpg's. I also lost my engine hours. Dont know how that happened. I do like the nav screen showing the map though. Now I just have to get the RED ORL switch.

I've got the same thing going on. I though I was crazy for awhile. But its fairly constant on mine at highway speeds. Its not crazy loud or anything just a high pitched sound in the background. I've tried locating it and can't figure it out. It's not brakes because the sound doesn't go away when you hit them. I figure if I take it by the dealership they'll just call me crazy and send me down the road. Ha.

just dropped it last night. Mcgaughys 3/5 and CK375 24" Wheels from USARIM wrapped in Nexen 295/35-24 rubber. Still got alot to do... thanks to LOW2014 for the inspiration on the wheels!
