Installed the 2" lift kit bilstein 6112 shocks and springs on my otherwise factory 2015 gmc sierra crew cab 6.2 SLT. Kit number was 47-273702 and included both front shocks, springs, mounting cups/hardware etc. I put a set of 5160 rears on it. These showed up and wow! Shocks are huge diameter almost 3". Giant pushrods. Everything looked extremely stout, bigger and equal quality to the $2k+ set of fox I put on my last cummins. Installation went smooth, no hangups although I am surprised at how fast GMs rust given the truck is 4 years old. I've driven 800 miles so far so presumably everything has settled nicely. The top setting (4 adjustments) gave me 1.8-2" of lift, which makes the truck appear level in stock form. Ride is VERY controlled, does not feel stiff to me at all, but the bounce and rock from the stock ranchos is now completely gone. Quite fun hitting speedbumps and joints quick, the truck just absorbs the hit and there is no jounce or jar. Very stable. I would even venture to say the ride soaks hits better than the 2.5 fox setup, although this truck is lighter and independent front so never a fair comparison. Overall just wanted to post this up since I did not see many reviews for this product related to GM trucks, so I was a bit weary on the initial purchase!1 point

.. got rear air bags in and got some driving time on them now.. ride seems to feel like a little more bounce to it.. running with around 10psi. Not impressed with the fit & finish of this Air Lift kit at all and the drivers side bracket had a slight bend/twist to it so the bag doesn't sit plumb.. no issue with the passenger side. Now the fun part to work issue with Air Lift next week to see if they stand behind their warranty. I chose Air Lift sure to their small footprint and their lifetime warranty on the entire package.. bags & brackets.1 point

Looking at my printout and specs, 1.9⁰ is on the low end and 3.9⁰ for Caster is the high end. Center spec would be 2.9⁰. So 2.0⁰ and 2.3⁰ would both be on the low end with 2.0⁰ almost out of spec. I would expect to see just above 2.9⁰ on the left and just under 2.9⁰ on the right side. That's what I am going to be looking for from the dealership once I get a chance to get in there...1 point

Agree. But the cheapest in price is not always reflective the quality. Periodic sales pricing confirms that. The best one can do is find a oil that fits within their comfort zone and they sleep well at night using. And pay as little as possible for it. It takes a really lame modern oil of the proper spec to cause issues with an engine. Even most of the store label oils are more than up to the task. It is extremely rare that anyone has actual oil related issues. Most times it is operator screw up that is the problem or poor OEM design.1 point

Haven’t posted much in here mainly been driving it. This week hopefully have time to add the CAI and a catch can. Also 2nd oil change coming up. Ryan B.1 point

I run both diesels and gas truck engines. I use Schaeffer in both. I use Schaeffer 7000 15/40 CK4 in summer and 7000 10/30 CK4 in winter in my diesels. My gas engines get Schaeffer 9000 5w30 year round. I would have nothing against using Mobil/Delvac products if I wasn't using Schaeffer in my diesels. For my gassers, probably one of the SOPUS/Shell products. My wife 2006 Cadillac CTS 3.6, GM says it needs M1 5w30. I have used only Pennzoil Conventional 10w30 in it. A look at the testing results done by the Petroleum Quality Institute of America shows why..... I have no clue what Shell is doing with that product, but it blew away M1 and it gives Amsoil 5w30 and 10w30 a run for its money. It has a very heavy dose of molybdenum in it which is a very good thing, a great balance of Calcium and ZDDP complimented by Boron, and it has a NOACK level lower than M1 and close to Amsoil Signature. And I can get this oil for $18 for 5qt jug at my local farm and home store. Kinda knocks the argument that Group IV is the best argument on its ass. http://www.pqiadata.org/Pennzoil10W30.html1 point

All this "true" synthetic vs "faux" synthetic is wasted time. There are some features of Group IV that Group III doesn't have, and there are some features that Group III has that Group IV doesn't have. Actually, the best is a mix of both Group IV and Group III. https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/533/base-oil-trends Even the best "true" synthetic will grenade and engine just as well as a "faux" synthetic if it doesn't have a good add pack. No base oil by itself will do the job properly. And Group III "faux" synthetic like SOPUS Gas To Liquid (GTL) made from natural gas, Group IV "true" synthetic is made from ethylene gas that is primarily sourced from natural gas. They are essentially the same end product. Oh.... and Group V is essentially everything that doesn't fit into Group 1 thru Group IV. There may not be any special to a oil that falls into the Group V category. Some of those are fine for use in an engine, some are not. https://www.machinerylubrication.com/Read/29113/base-oil-groups1 point

Here you go! Put mine on last week! Edit: Sorry my Tapatalk is set for all years for forums. Didn’t see that you were talking about 2019. I have a 2018 and they worked great. I’m sure you can find them for 2019 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I started to replace my rotors and pads with upgrades from EBC. As with everything it didn't go smoothly. I struggled to find the brake pad clips in stock at any local parts store. Of course no one had ACDelco in stock so that left me with some aftermarket option (brake best). I should have just waited and bought some OEM clips and boots but I was too eager to get this wrapped up. The metal clips fit nicely, although didn't seem to have as firm a grip as the OEM ones, I didn't pay it too much mind but once I put the pads in I couldn't get the pads to not tough the rotors, I messed around with the clips themselves and obviously they are the most cheap metal possible, there is zero spring to them so if I left them as is they would almost surely squeak and wear prematurely. So now I've got to try and get some OEM boots and clips Monday to try and wrap this up. Word to the wise, don't use brake best if you undertake this, they are crap product. Hard to tell but the right pad has almost full contact with the rotor. On the plus side everything is lining up well They also look pretty nice, enjoy the black, even if they are pretty small for the wheel size (20") Also, ignore the missing hub, I just threw the wheel back on until tomorrow.1 point

You want the Double USB port. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F232571860036 You also want to complete the CarPlay/Android Retrofit to take advantage of the all the features available for VIM and the full unlock. www.WhiteAutoandMedia.com They can also supply the hardware (brand new) if needed to ensure fitment and compatibility for your truck. I'm going to go ahead and like your video since the camera work is good, the fluff it edited out, and there's no talking and no music. Excellent!1 point

I hope I am wrong but, I think they are engineered to fail just after the warranty runs out. 36 month battery last just a touch longer than 36 months. They make good money selling these things. And there are really only a handful of battery manufacturers. They just re-label them for whomever wants a battery.1 point

I was going to do 3rd setting on mine but ended up getting 4 wheel parts to do the top setting. Was thinking about a 2" block in the rear. I have the 5100's in the rear I installed myself. With the 6112's in the front I still have a slight rake, glad I went on the highest setting and don't even think I need the rear block either.1 point

Sounds like a dealer install screw up and by him saying he seen 5-6 of these is nothing but a lie so you wouldn't get pissed at them for not properly torqueing the bolt or not tighten at all. Those bolts don't just fall out.1 point
-
You have to keep them clean for the best look. If you drive dirty them I may agree. I'm a clean truck guy and I love the black. I traded a Yukon SLT Premier with chrome and they were difficult to keep nice through the Michigan winter. Guess we'll see how the black holds up with a ceramic coating on it. So far loving the black!1 point

17" work/base truck wheels might be a better solution. RD6 Wheels, 17" x 8" (43.2 cm x 20.3 cm) painted steel, Silver1 point

Probably not, but if she doesn't care about your wife, she probably isn't too classy anyway. I don't condone throwing handguns out of trucks. They are soon to be gone in my country if the Libs get in again which concerns me.1 point

Pull interior door handle twice to open a locked door, even while in motion. You don't have to put the truck in park or manually unlock the doors to let someone out. Perfect for dumping off your side piece as quick as possible.1 point

+1 for the fan club, love this motor Picked up a Sierra SLE with most options available, 2WD though, with the 2.7t Getting 20mpg city commute to work, and we took a 800 mile road trip and averaged 25mpg. Couldn't ask for more. The torque curve is incredible.1 point

Will get some better picks soon, but had a 2" level installed then picked up a set of 275/70/18 duratracs. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk1 point

Is this sound different than the fuel pump? I hear what sounds like a sewing machine under acceleration under the drivers side floor.1 point

Plasti dipped the emblems on my tailgate and door. Trying to figure out what to do about the chrome accent pieces. I guess wrapping them would be much better than spraying them. Got a 1.5" level (can't go higher and fit in the parking garage), NITTO TERRA GRAPPLER G2 305 /45 R22, bed cover and a few other things. Has anyone installed a light bar behind the grill on a 2019 yet?1 point

The std bed is so much more functional. I really like the extra capacity Ryan B.1 point

That is awesome! I have a 19 just like yours in NorthSky Blue Metallic, only mine is an LT. I'm gonna get an LTZ grille for mine too. Did you install your own?1 point
