Create New Gmt-900 Forum?

So, we've been toying with the idea of creating a new and separate GMT-900 forum section.

Just a simple question- yes or no. What do you folks think? Please also feel free to let us know what other changes we should/could make to organize things here more efficiently.

Yes, I think it's a great idea. There are so many vehicles covered in this current forum, it seems logical to subdivide the new GMT900's. It would certainly help those of us with the GMT900 to weed out a lot of info that does not apply during our searches and stuff.

Not that I think any less of the "other rides" on this forum ...just looking to narrow the focus thats all.

Yes there should be a specific separate forum for RV,GMT400,GMT800 & GMT900

The biggest problem I see with this is that guys with 900's have also had 400's and 800's and unless they are actively going to the 400 and 800 forums, they'll not be seeing the threads they'd be most helpful in.

I agree with Daddy, some will more than likely focus less on other forums. If there was a way to tag each topic as GMT-400, 800, 900, etc but keep it all in the same sub-forum that would be great. For example, on the list of topics in the sub forum you would see:

[GMT-400] Ball joints

[GMT-900] Best leveling kit

[GMT-800] Knocking sounds from rear

Each category would be selected when creating a new topic.

Not sure if the software for this forum has that capability or not, but I find that the most feasible way. Searchable yet all together still.

I agree too! I own GMT 400, 800, and 900.

Plus some problems are common between series. If you're a 900 looking for an answer that a 800 member has addressed you might miss out on it.

Tags would be awesome since i have GMT 900 and GMT 800s..

We've kicked this around before, and I'd have to agree with the others, If we were to try to tag the series in the topic, those who wish to read it can, and those who wish to skip the post can.

One of the problems I have seen in the section is that a given topic title doesn't always state what generation truck is involved.

I voted for separate sections but would they be separate sub-forums under "Full-Size Trucks"??

I like the tag idea just fine, I just don't care for forums with to many subsections. I agree with fact there is to much cross over info and participation that would likely be lost should they be completely split off.

Powertrains are very similar from 800-900s. I am not sure there is much in common with the old 400s compared to the 800/900. I can't think of much of anything that carried over from the 400s to the 800/900s , So if there is going to be a split, I would sure like to limit it to 800/900 then brake the 400s off.
