My wife and I were heading for Wally world to do some grocery shopping and I was hitting the on-ramp to the highway. I saw a whole string of cars staggered coming up the highway in my side mirror, so I stepped down on the throttle a little more to just hit the highway at speed along with being in-front of the on-coming traffic.

Some little peckerhead in a rice burner car was closing the gap and actually wasn't going to "let" me merge, but was trying to cut me off. Sooooooooo I dropped it in 2nd gear and beat him to the end of the ramp... but I was surprised to see it was a little struggle to get to the end of the ramp before he did. I had to put'r down... But I did...

Then... I slowed back down to highway speed and let the little punk pass... only to see it was an SS Cobalt... So I guess thats why I had a little struggle. :rollin:

what... NO PICTURES???? :rollin:

ya know.. i had a similar thing happen today:

after leaving work the next traffic light has 2 lanes that go straight and then after the intersection there's a dotted line and then they merge after a few hundred feet. Out of respect everyone usually stays in the left lane so that people can use the right lane to make right turns. Well, while approaching the light today the left lane had about 5-6 cars in it, the right lane was free, and the arrows were green so i knew the light was going to change in a few seconds. Rather than coming to a full stop and having to accelerate again i decided to roll up the right lane and sure enough as soon as i got there the light turned green. When it did, i didn't gun it like a little punk, i just accelerated normally which put me about a car length ahead of the jeep commander in the left lane. Well, the driver didnt like that too much and started punching the gas..... now there isn't much room so the drivers intent was clear- they wanted me to get stuck in the shoulder. I put the pedal down and reclaimed that front spot with room to spare (i haven't nailed the gas in a while like that so it felt good, not gonna lie  )

The sad part was i expected it to be some late 20s or early 30s guy... no, it was an early 40's woman with what looked like a 8-10 year old son in the passenger seat. Which really pissed me off because the way I knew this is because she proceeded to tailgate me while i was doing 60mph in a 50mph zone, i guess she was "mad" at me . For her sons sake i didnt brake check her, i just set my cruise control and let it be..... and it seemed like he had no clue what was going on, just hanging out lookin out the window.

i was driving through downtown last night and came to a red light. these kids pull up in their dodge halfton v6 and keeping trying to race my off the lights. so i look over to the gf and she luaghs so im like alright i put the truck in 4hi and waited till green, i only put the trucks throttle half down and i had to been 4 car lengths ahead of them then i let off and all i can hear is this shitty dodge v6 screaming down the street.

Then he comes up to beside me and starts getting close to my truck, so im like you wanna be a dick about it so all i do was i inched my truck over to his ( we were still doing about 50km/h) so i had my mirror one inch away from his mirror and so i looked at him and i just layed on the gas and sped away.

once again i put the brakes on the slow down and i here this shitty dodge v6 screaming down the street and coming up beside me. he unrolls his window fingers me and puts his truck in neutral and revs it up and pops it back in gear and burns down the street. so im like ok i guess a dodge can only do burn outs when its already in motion and there is ice and snow on the ground.

Pull up the gas station and he pulls up to me and he is like what the hell is your problem man. i looked at him and luaghed at him and i said you serious and i laughed more. then he got mad payed for his gas and left.

There have been many a time I've missed my '95 9c1 ...I had alot of work in that car.....laying 2 solid strips of rubber into third gear on a hot summer day usually ended the contests...and got some really bewildered looks from the antagonists...that was the most priceless part!!

As much as I miss it....I really dont.... for all the little piss ants that did nothing but hassle you EVERY time you were out cruising....its nice to incognito now!

Supercharged SS? I have raced both the 2006 Cobalt SS at the drag strip. I can beat the SS. But the Supercharged SS...well....nuff said. Before the turbo debut in the Cobalt SS, you could get 2 different SS trims. Non SC was a 2.4 with 171hp. It had a little git to it for a stock 4 cyl.

The turbo one is even easier to make fast. If I wasn't a truck guy, I'd be looking pretty hard into getting one for a DD.

/prolly get a bimmer though...Just because I've never had one

My father-in-law drives like that with is honda civic, and his F150. refuses to share the road.

When this happens and my wife is driving, she likes to say to herself "you better move that little **** car, Im gonna run you over like a little speedbump" I just shake my head and smile!

Its great because my wife is 5'2", like 100lbs soaking wet! and she is driving a full size truck! :rollin:
