I smashed and dislocated my left little finger on the 13th but I fixed the finger myself, a little pull and twist and all is fine, it swelled and turned a little purple but feals pretty good today.

My $400 lawnmower was stolen from my GFs locked garage while we were out for dinner. Then on the after dealing with the Police and getting it reported, on the way home I was pulled over by a Highway Patrolman. He proceeded to write me a ticket for my license plate bulbs not being "bright enough". They are the stock 194 bulbs. They had been replaced just about a month ago during the vehicle inspection when one was discovered to be out.

That was an expensive night out. I believe I would fight the ticket. I've never heard of that one before. Hope you find the mower.

Oh I'll be going to the Judge next week for sure. Not just going to pay for it

I purchased my truck on Friday the 13th. Everyone said I was crazy, but I was too excited to wait. Either way, I took the truck out drag racing to celebrate its second Friday the 13th with me.

Ummm what exactly did the ticket say it was for??? Because I've never heard of a "ticket" for a violation on that. I don't wanna be a prick, but I wanna call bullshit. Since when did you have to, by law "light up" your license plate, seeing as how headlights reflect on it.

Unless your record with the po-po is terrible and you made a scene when he pulled you over... VEHICLE INSPECTIONS

In Texas, you have to have the license plate illuminated with its own bulb. They will write you a "fix it" ticket, and make sure you get it done. Once you get it fixed, all you pay is court fees.

Do cops really got nothing better to be doing with their time then pulling people over for license plate bulbs? like shit i have one bulb thats smashed and the other is burnt. everyones headlights are on it anyways.

Ive got in shit for having a muddy license plate and muddy tail lights before

The ticket states the the bulbs were "defective". He stated that they weren't "bright" enough. It's all been recorded on my Iphone. As stated by others, rear plates must be illuminated here. You even must have a front plate on display as well. Both plates must be legible with no coverings or shields of any kind. Some states don't have the 2 plate requirement. I have been stopped in the past in my old truck when the plate light was out

The Patrolman followed me for 3 miles. He could have stopped me at any time to discuss this with me. I didn't disobey any traffic laws during that time he was following me. I guess he just wanted or needed to make a stop. Random stops like these are how some "bad" people are caught. It's really no big thing now. I expect the Judge to dismiss after showing my evidence.

I'm more pissed about losing an electric start, self-propelled mower to some thieving scumbag.
