Z71 Sticker Under Warranty?

Just wondering if anybody knew if the Z71 sticker was covered under the fatory warranty? It is starting to get small chunks of it peeling and tearing off. I am extremely picky about my truck and it's starting to bother me, even though it's not real bad yet. I assume the sticker is not something the dealer would replace for free if it's wearing, but thought I would ask anyways. The truck will be 3 years old in January. Thanks for your insight!

If for some reason they won't replace it, I would just go ahead and buy one if it bothers you that much (it would bother me).

Get in to them before the 3 year mark and they should cover it. Watch out for the "oh you must have used a pressure washer" line from them. Good luck

My 4x4 sticker chipped tiny pieces off the edge after hand washing and hand waxing, 1-2 weeks after I bought the truck new. I put clear "bra" tape over it. Just another one of those annoyances. Look aftermarket. Probably get the same sticker for half the price.

Why? Z71 is just an appearance package. Cheap shocks, tin foil skid plate, and a z71 sticker. Paid for it, might as well leave it. Besides, he already said he was anal. Some of us like our factory badging.

i dont know about the gmt900's but my gmt800 skid plate can sure as hell take a beating.

 

i say get a cooler aftermarket z71 sticker

Mine is peeling too, except it is only on the passenger's side. I'd be interested if the dealer will cover it under warranty. I have a feeling that they won't, but I guess it won't hurt to ask them.

IMO it is a "bumper to bumper" warranty, the sticker is in between the bumpers so I would demand it be replaced....

 

They will look at you like you are crazy but ef em.

when i got into and accident last winter i got a whole new right side bed panel and the Z71 sticker my body shop put on flatout dissapeared after a couple days. clearly just blew off. i went to my local chevy dealer and told the parts guy what happend and he said pull it in the garage and put a new one on for free and perfectly aligned it. thank go for the few non-crook filled chevy dealers left.

I like the look of my white truck without the red z71 decal. I think your black truck would look great with an aftermarket z71 decal with a black 'Z' instead of red.

Yes I know of the Z71 appereance package. When I saw the truck I bough had it on the bed. I told them to remove it before I took delivery. I think those stickers are tacky. To each his own I guess. I even thought about removing the skid plate as well.
