In-channel Window Visors

I am thinking about ordering a pair of in-channel visors for my truck, does anyone have these on there truck or know someone that does? Do they seem to hold up just as well as the stick on kind?

I've got the WeatherTech in channel vent shades on my truck. I've had them on since June. I don't like the "stick on" type...I've had them before and my dad and brother both have them on their trucks and there is always one shade that doesn't stick and starts flapping and bouncing after a while. With the in channel visors, there is no tape to come unstuck. They did increase wind noise slightly, but not enough for me to not like them.

The guy i work with has them and it looks like it wore the glass a bit were the window goes into the channel. I got the tape on ones and i like them but they sound like a window is always opened a little bit. I guess there is a quirk either way.

I have the stick on visors on my truck only because the PO already had them installed. But if I were to purchase them, I would go with weather tech in channel if they are available. My dad has had the IC visors on his previous 03 Avalanche, and he also get them for his 08 Sierra when he got that about 2 years ago. I really like weather tech products overall, they are very durable, and the visors and bug shields won't fade and look like crap in 2 or 3 years either

I have the inchannel vent visors. I have had them since 03. Love them. No issues at all. I just can't remember the brand. Weather Tech makes products, it I had to order new I would go with them.

I have the in channel ones. Weather tech I think, I've put them on every truck I've owned. They tend to add a little windnoise and can scratch the glass if any dirt gets in the channel (impossible not to) but it's only around the lip. I like the in channel ones better because they dont look like a stick-on after thought

Yes they do

I have the in channel in my truck and the stick on on my wifes Tahoe

My only complaint is when washing the truck. It is damn near impossible to get a wash mitt/towel between it and the glass to clean and dry. I have to end up roll the windows down for a final detail.

Thank you guys for all of the feedback. I do believe I am going to be going with the Weathertech IC visors. They are not that expensive at all for just a two door truck. Thank you again for the feedback :D

Wow, I've had the stick on type for years on several vehicles, I've never had one come off yet. As far as I'm concerned its the best type out there. Didn't even know they had this "in channel" type

Anyone got some pics?

I have Putco in-channel ones on mine and had AVS in-channel ones on the old truck. No problems at all. The Putco ones look really nice. they have an angled look to them. The AVS ones started to fade a little, but that was after 5 years.

My wife has the Weather-Tech in-channel ones on her Cobalt. They are thicker material and look more robust, but they seem to stick out more.

I would not get stick-on ones. The OEM stick-on ones that were on my Dad's 2500 started coming off after about a year or so. He has since switched to in-channel units.

I've had both. The stick-ons would sometimes come loose. The in-channel would ware places in the channel and both caused too much wind noise so...I don't have any now and never will again.

The other week, I saw an old Chevy truck around early 1990s. He had pop-riveted the stick-on visors to his truck...

I have the in-channel ones on my truck also. I just recently bought them from a forum member and installed them. I really like them because I can leave my windows cracked during the day and let the heat out of the truck some. When you are looking to buy, they now make an in-channel low profile version that I think would probably make less noise when running down the road. I am very happy with mine.

    • Thanks for response. Leak was right under drivers seat or thereabout.   Had checked by other mechanics and have read other information.   The solution can be a tad complicated and replacing multiple parts And with some.  The issue was still the same.   The brakes do work.   Just that the pedal is softer and goes further down.  But the brakes do work.
    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
