Fuel System Cleaner

How do most of ya'll feel about fuel system cleaners? I'm one of these types that HATES to waste money. If it is something I need to do every so often thats fine. But if it's just throwing money away I don't want any part of it. Also, I know some people buy gas like Chevron that has techron cleaner in it already...well the gas I buy is unbranded ethanol free. It's not a discount cheap gas or nothing. It is just unbranded and as far as I know, doesn't have anything in it to clean. Should I run a fuel cleaner though sometimes?

The best thing you can do is just run top tier gas. If this isn't an option for you, you might want to run some Techron cleaner or similar fuel system cleaner once or twice a year. Might cost you about $10 a year.

I dump a can of GM's FI treatment just before winter. Nothing the rest of the year.

Wasted money. Gasoline is an excellent solvent. Flip side is it won't hurt anything but your wallet.

i run a can of Sea Foam about every 3-4k mi. i can notice a difference in the way my motor idles and better off the line acceleration. so for me it's worth the $7.00 every 5-6 mo..

Every 3-4k? Wow talk about overkill.

Seafoam for sure. I did half a can in the tank and bought intake spray for the throttle body. Put the other half of the can into the brake booster vacuum line. I went from 14.1 to 15.3. Great stuff...
