The irony of this dude driving a half ton LT is just baffling. :uhoh:

I bet the pansy heats his house in the winter and cools it in the summer. What a candy-ass. :rollin:

I just have to say this is one of my favorites!:lol::lol:

This thread heats my balls.

Just like my leather seats do.

Trucks these days can haul/tow so much more than the supposed "real" trucks of yore it's not even funny. To say nothing of the fact that all the way up to the 80's, if your truck hit 100,000 miles without needing a complete rebuild of the engine, you were one lucky Joe. Most of them were losing compression and limping around needing two quarts of oil a week by 80,000 miles. Most trucks these days aren't even hurting at 200,000 miles.

Oh, and the mileage has more than doubled since then as well.

So...Despite the heated leather keester roosts, the sunroofs, the magical push-button 4x4, the thin sheet metal, the extra seating, the touchscreen navigation, the DVD players, the fancy mirrors, or TWICE THE HORSEPOWER.....Todays trucks are infinitely better than the old ones. So you can keep that old oil burning rattle trap with the bench seat and bias ply tires, and I'll cruise on down the road in quiet comfort, playing with my heated windshield washer fluid and adjusting my pedals because it's a Tuesday.

You should get that checked out! :fume:

After coming from an '87 Samurai, I must say that comfortable seats are the greatest thing since sliced bread. That and more than 60 HP stock... Stereos are nice too...

I remember our old '81 Sierra Classic, that 305 2bbl was a Female Dog to Start in the Winter. but it was pretty loaded for its era. power windows and Locks (The Driver's Window stopped working when we sold it, and the Power Locks NEVER Worked) AM/FM radio, Red Interior (Headliner had fallen and was pratically gone, hole in the carpet below the brake pedal, MASSIVE Hole in the Driver's side of the Vinyl Bench Seat) and it was starting to rust out. we would NEVER Trade our Nice Silverado for ANYTHING.

creature comforts are nice, except gm took my washer fluid heater.

you do realise you can get your Heated Washer Fluid Back if you Install the Alphatherm Mentioned in the Pinned section here in the FST Forum.

The simple fact remains that GM wouldn't build trucks with all of this stuff on them if a consensous of

the general publice didn't want it all.

Heated seat & steering wheels? Give me a break. Just another way to increase profits.

What did the people, do before we had those in vehicles/ Just like how did we survive w/o cellphones?

I'd say something more but it looks like just here alone, you're out voted.

The public spoke, GM answered. :fume:

I have been reading some forums talking about what they would like to see on the 2013 chevys. I think most of these people just just buy a dang mini van. Trucks are meant to be trucks, not pretty boy grocery haulers. Truck interiors are meant to be used and abused. Interiors should be made with that in mind, not "this truck isn't soft inside". If you want soft, get a crossover.

all that being said, i love my new silverado LT.

Man I am lucky that there are people like you that can tell me what I want. If it weren't for people like you I would have bought a loaded Sierra SLT 1500 with 20 inch wheels and chrome mirrors and door handles...OH CRAP...I already bought it. I guess I need to head back to the dealer and trade it in on a Sierra WT.

I really don't understand why people post crap like this. It accomplishes nothing. I am sorry that you feel like creature comforts are stupid, but that doesn't mean that you need to say that GM should not build any truck with options.

And by the way, why would you say that a truck interior is to be used and abused. You spent good money on your truck, why wouldn't you want to be careful with it and keep it looking nice.

Well I won't be back online for a while because I need to go outside and throw hammers and wrenches at the dash of my truck and smear mud on the headliner so it meets the standard of a real truck.

This apparently should be what the 2013/14 truck interiors look like. Military had it right all along...good bye technology...hello dark ages.

I had a '79 LUV.

Creature comforts? How about just having the ability to go faster than 50 miles per hour?

My '67 GTO has kick panel vents since it doesn't have A/C, but that doesn't mean that I shouldn't be allowed to have Rainsense wipers in my truck.

like i said, just lock the stupid topic. the results were predictable even if the op did intend for it to go down this road.... funny part is, it's pretty unanimous lol.

Wow, glad I didn't miss this thread. I like a "soft" comfortable truck and an automatic transmission. Of course, a stick is fun every now and then. But saying all trucks should be baseline shitboxes is absurd.

in texas we drive trucks.. dont matter race/culture/sex/etc.

the busted-ass flatbead f-450 i drive at work is for getting shit done.

when i clock out i want to be comfortable. always drove a truck and probably always will. it's there when i need it, but rarely take it off the pavement or haul with it. it's an option if i need it but dont go around like my truck is anything bad ass. it's a city truck and gets me around and gives me something to blow money on.

y'all just chill damn.

I like the bells and whistles and I'm glad I have the option to spend MY money on them. If I didn't want them I would buy the crank window AM/FM no sliding visor optioned out work truck Colorado I put 3x the miles on every year as my own vehicle.

What is the option code for the ass scratching seats? Seems like a safety issue when I have to remove my hands from the wheel to take care of business.
