Ranchhand front end

For eveybody who has a ranchahnd front end replacement or knows about them.

 

I was looking at some of the pics of people who had a ranch hand front end replacement and thought WOW. i gotta get me one of those.

Question questions.

1. DO i have to do something with the suspension since the darn thing weighs in excess of 250 lbs.

2. WOUld it be feasable for me (and a few buddies for lifting) to install this myself. The lady from ranchhand said it was a straight bolt on. 3. the site said something about rubber for up rights? should i get that? Thanx for the help. really want to rder it today so answer swiftly.  hehe

Except for a select few nobody really has one of these and the select few are not giving any feed back i decided to go with a westin sportsman. cheaper and used everywhere.

Those are for i believe if you want to push someone with the front.  It wont damage the other vehicle.  I have the rubber strips on my go rhino grill guard.

RYan, yeah i figured that out about the rubber add ons for the uprighs. The westins come with it too.

I have a Ranchand front-end replacement on my HD.

1) It brought the nose down about 1/2" I measured and I didn't crank the torsion rods for fear of throwing out the toe and camber of the tires.

2) It is a pretty much direct bolt on but it is heavy I used a Cat fork truck to lift mine into place.  You have to take off your grill to put it on, no big deal.  The only problem I ran into is the support brackets that go from where your recover hooks bolt to the frame to the bottom of the front-end replacement.  They give you left and right hand supports but they fit like s*%t.  So being a welder I put some heat on them and with the help of a 1/2 drive Bluepoint impact and a few CAT bolts the support worked out fine.  

 

I probably use my front-end replacement more than anyone here.  Not meant to sound like a dick smack but I push trailers around with mine, stuck trucks, tractors and have tied off to it to pull out the HD.  I have already had mine sandblasted, galvanized and shot black and rubbed so it will last longer than the factory powder coat.  Just remember if you consider hot galvanizing that you need to burn holes in the pipe and weld some supports across it to make sure they don't bend it when they dipped it.  LATE

I just bought a 2000 Z-71 and it has the Ranch Hand full front end.   Been thinking about doing a 3" body lift.   What happens to the Ranch Hand when this is done? ???

Would it by chance happen to be a Pewter 2000 Z71 that you bought from someone on the same street you live on?  :thumb:

 

Anyway,you would pretty much have to leave the bumper as is and make a gap guard to go around the bottom of the grill/top of the bumper.You could also leave it alone and have the gap which you can talk to who I beleive is the former owner of your truck because he saw one like that and said it didn't look bad.
