Hey everyone! First off, happy new year! :)

I wanted to let you all know that I'll be attending press days for the Detroit Auto Show aka North American International Auto Show aka NAIAS this week- Monday and Tuesday.

I'm scheduled to have some 1-on-1 time with some GM executives. I can ask pretty much any question I want, within taste. I have a few ideas but I want to make sure I represent the community.

I will take the best questions from this thread straight to GM brass. I'll then report the answers back to you.

So, what questions say you, GM-Trucks.com Community?

Where is the 1500 4.5 Duramax!!!!!!!!? That would be a great answer to the new 3.5 TT from Ford.

There are many people ready for this and disappointed that that engine was never released.

ask them what the plastic valance up front is really for :)

J/K

I would however like to know what happened with the 4.5L diesel for the 1500 series, and what their thoughts are with the 3.5EB and where that puts GM if Ford is successful with this new engine.

How much mpg improvement will we be seeing with the new K2 platform?

Come on guys, we can come up with better questions than some light additions.

How about new design platform (K2), new powertrains (4.5), light duty truck remodel (Colorado/Cayon), HD chassis development trickle downs to 1500 chassis (frame), cost savings (Rumors of GMC being the truck division for GM).

Ask them when are we getting the hood light, glove box light, and under dash lights back. Also ask them how many chucks could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood. Also, ask them what is being done to ENSURE the AFM oil consumption issues are being addressed. Let's see how truly aware of the problems they are. watch their expressions to see if they are full of BS or if they really know there is an issue.

Don't you mean "Compact"? :P:(

But yeah, That's one thing I'd like to know.... When can we expect to see the next remodel for the Colorado/Canyon platform?

With the release of the Volt, is there a timeline or estimation for how far away we are from seeing the First All-Electric Silverados/Sierras? (<-I'm not really interested in that, but I think it's a good question to ask)
