Brett Farve Retirement...

Just throwing this out there.. do you think the Packers would re-sign Brett Farve to a one day contract to let him officially retire as a Green Bay Packer? Or, has he already offically retired as a Viking? I know a lot of Packers hate him after he jerked them around for a couple of years but do think he should retire as a Packer? My wife is a Packers fan who grew very tired of his antics, but thinks they should re-sign him for a day...

Thoughts?

He just needs to retire and stay retired. I feel basically has taken a lot of the shine off of his career in the past few years and has become a bit of a joke rather than a legend.

As far as the packer resigning him for a day, that is just ridiculous, the packers just won the superbowl and shouldn't take away form that by signing him to retire him a packer. It would distract from the current players and their achievements and basically be completely disrespectful to them.

The only reason I could see them doing it is to sell some merchandise, otherwise it is pointless.

WHO CARES?? Just retire already.

+1

Then he can spend his time taking and sending his cockshots to whomever he wishes. :dunno:

I live near Green Bay, could not care less about football but the general feeling I get from the locals is he burned his bridge with the offseason BS and played too long. Celebrities just wont learn from Elvis's example.

IMO had he retired when he left GB he would have been a permanent hero, now he is more of a punchline.

I agree he has royally screwed up in the past year or more, but everyone forgets he holds the records for almost everything a quarterback can in the NFL. He was just a few plays away from a super bowl in which the team that beat him (Saints) took the Colts (my favorite team) to the cleaners just years ago.

It just makes me laugh when a Hall of Fame star makes some bad mistakes and people all jump on the band wagon to dis-own him.

Hell nobody remembers Michael Jordan leaving the NBA to run from his gambling and affairs, or Michael Vick and his brutality towards dogs and jail time because he has "changed himself".

I'm not a Packer fan or a Brett Farve fan but I will give credit where credit is due and that man has played through shit most of you would go cry to your moms about, or stay in the ER for days. Oh and won doing it, A LOT! He lead the way through the 90's for young quarterbacks.

Is he a friggin moron for carrying on the retire crap and then the whole picture stuff, yes. But if we judged pro players for their ethics, we wouldn't have anyone to root for.
