Hey I'm looking to get rid of the chrome on my front and back bumpers of my 08 gmc sierra 1500. Powder coating them white is my back up plan but first I want to try plasti dipping them a gloss white. Are their any things I need to be aware of before I attempt this procedure?

Maybe things such as how many coats? I've head I should do 4-5

Do I need to rough up the surface a bit or just clean the **** out of it and spray it on right after?

I just want to make sure I do this right.lol

Also, do you pull the tape off when it's still wet or when it's getting close to the almost dry stage?

Thanks for the help guys! :)

No need to prep other than a good cleaning. Then spray away until you have good even coverage.

no prep just clean surface of oils etc

spray evenly do a light coat first then heavier coats because some cans dont like to spray right experiment with that particular can first

peel the tape right after the last coat i cannot stress this enough otherwise you will hate your life if you let it dry lol

half hour between coats i do 4 coats its pretty tough stuff and easy to use

Well, I FINALLY got a chance to clean, and detail my rig. My teenage daughter helped me on the interior. I took it from a broken stereo that ate my CD's and wouldn't give them back, to something a little wilder. I need to get some floor mats for my truck to keep the floor clean, but other than that, this is my 05 Silverado with 220K on her.

What can I say, I love customizing my vehicles, and I figured that if I already had my interior apart that much when I was replacing the stereo,I might as well go all the way.

That's very... Uh... Yellow. But nice!

HAHA, yea it is very yellow. It looks like a dandelion threw up inside my truck. It's my favorite color, but it meshes well with the black, dark pewter interior, and purple highlights. It's not everyone's forte', but I like it :)

Some I took today. It's nice to have a decent camera now.
