Side trim pieces fading

I just joined up and have a 2008 Silverado LT CC Z71. Lately I have noticed that the trim pieces that run along the sides of the doors have started to fade on the top edge. My father has a 2007 Sierra Ext cab and has the same issue. Do you guys have any ideas on what could be causing this, and what would be the best way to bring it back to normal?

I solved that problem on mine by removing them, wa-lla! My 09 is white, and they were beginning to "yellow" on the corners and edges. Even before that they stuck out like a sore thumb on a white truck in my opinion. They seem to blend in better on darker colors though. You may actually have to pull them, repaint, and put them back on. I think that's all I could have done to restore mine if I'd wanted to keep them.

What color is your truck? I have a 08 CC as well and mine are fine but my truck is grey. My dad's 07 Avalanche is white and I noticed that his are a little more faded now and his truck is garaged.

My drivers side started to fade at 35,xxx so lucky for me the dealer repainted them. I really noticed them after a trip to the snow.

Typical problem. Have to remove or repaint
