Box Liner Spraying - Under or Over?

I'm scheduled to get my box spray lined. I've done my research and my only remaining question is: under or over rail?

I have a hard folding tonneau cover. I will be using the truck for towing a 5th wheel trailer, not for work, not for plowing. I'd prefer over rail but I'm worried about the edge showing on the outside and how it would look. What about tie-downs?

I'm not looking for the pros & cons of spray vs drop-in. But I'm looking for thoughts/experience/issues on over vs under rail. I'm struggling with that one...

I'd get over the rail. The only reason I got under the rail was due to the truck coming with the plastic rail covers. Wish I had removed those now & gotten over the rail.

I agree, go over the rail and you wont have to worry about the cover wearing the pain off of the rails. The only reason to stay under would be because of the plastic caps

My vote is for over the rail. The previous owner of my truck had a very nice Line-X installed...but didn't go over the rails. :smash: It's hard to keep the tops of your bed rails looking nice if you actually use your truck as a truck...and it seems silly to me, to spend an extra $100 (give or take) on bed caps if you're already planning to get the spray-in liner done.

Sorry to buck the trend, but I went under rail, and GM plastic rail caps. Just think it looks cleaner and more finished. That being said, I can see over rail for toughness. I also had the plugs in the side of the box removed, as I also had the GM sliding hold down setup installed.

im going to go under the rail when i get mine, but i also have the plastic rail protectors on mine, about a 100 bucks installed from my dealer. I like the clean straight line of the plastic compared to the risk of having a non-perfect over the rail spray.
