Just ordered auto cal!

Im sure there have been dozens of these threads, but hey I'm excited! After a few e-mails back and forth I have decided to go ahead and get the truck tuned. So I'm looking forward to it. If I understood correctly I think we are going to do a 89 octane tune, and tweek the tranny a little bit along with killing DOD(really happy for that one). I'll update after tuning.

I've been debating on getting my AFM turned off as well. I would like to know if it really helps fuel economy or not.

I don't know that turning AFM off helps fuel economy or not. I didn't put 1,000 miles on my new 2011 before turrning it off below 60 mph as I hated it going on and off around town.

For changes like turning off amf do u need black bear to do that? Or can you change it yourself

I believe most handheld tuners can turn off afm. I went with black bear because the tune is a, little more custom to your truck instead of just a generic can tune. Those generic tunes don't always work the same on every truck.

I believe Superchips is the only hanheld that you can turn off/on AFM. Through the AutoCal, Justin with BB Performance will need to tweek it in his tune file to your liking. But a custom tune like Blackbear is definitely better than any handheld off the shelf tuner.

I was thinking trying diffrent settings for afm to see how they affect mpg. Like on above 45, on above 60 and such

Ordered mine Monday. Was hoping it would go out with the round of Autocals on Tuesday but not sure if it did. I'm pretty excited as well so I definitely feel your excitement. Don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm curious, does anyone else have the Progressive Snapshot in their truck? Looks like I'll have to remove mine while I log for BB.
