It actually sat for 2 weeks over the past month (1 week when I went to Germany and 1 week when we went to Florida last week)

Wow you can almost eat your lunch under there, I admire people that can keep their vehicles that clean, I find I work hard at mine but it never seems to reach that level of detailing. Plus as soon as mine is clean it seems I have to do a run to the dump or something. Then I have to start all over again.

He sacrifices much to achieve this level of clean. Don't fall victim to the clean side.

 

He is this sites detailing version of a mad scientist.

 

Every now and then, his kids, desperate for attention, photo bomb the car and truck shots. That's when he doesn't have them doing some cleaning themselves. He then posts those pictures to fool us into thinking he spends time with them, rather than keeping his autos pristine 24/7.

 

 

His photos of them dirty is actually his scientific study to determine the splash patterns and develop a way to drive and never get his autos dirty.

Dropped the "Pig" off at the body shop to fix my stupidity!!! Hit the front drivers fender and dented / scracthed it good, (and no I did not take any pictures, don't know why???) Saw it late today with out grill in it and they were working on getting the dent out should be back in it on Wednesday!!! PS I hate the wifes Ford!!!! :jester:

Did rear coilover adjustable shocks, a rear tie rod, & both stabilizer rods on my buddy's 700 RWHP 5th gen Camaro on Saturday.

 

Reason the rear tie rod is singular, is thanks to GM and their MORONIC design team. For ONE BOLT you have to drop the entire rear member - axles, differential and all. Nice job, GM! Yet again! :mad:

 

The bolt on the passenger side comes right out no problem ... but on the driver's side, it hits the gas tank. No possible way it will come out unless the frame was lowered 4" or so ... or lowered a full mid-mounted tank of gas on a car on jackstands - no thanks. After fighting all the damn bolt holes that go out of whack any time ANY bolt is removed, we gave up on that one. We'll tackle that, and the front coilovers, when he gets the thing out of storage next April or May. Ride height was all screwed up because my buddy misinterpreted the scale on the caliper I was using - I used metric , and he was reading the inch scale. Car was so far out of whack, we couldn't get the low profile jack out of the rear of the vehicle! Finished at 9pm, tired, and bleeding. Doing this without a lift royally SUCKS! Seems to be the way GM builds everything in the 21st century. Need a lift for what used to be straightforward tasks.

Today was a little less stressful. Cut some bolts and welded the threaded part to the nubs that were left on a '91 Miata exhaust flange. Now you can have a normal conversation in the cab without yelling, lol. That little 95.7 cubic inch engine sure is a noisy one, lol. I'm a small guy, and I barely could get in this thing. Rides like crap too - can feel every single pebble in the roadway. Fun to drive though, as far as shifting at 7 grand. Wouldn't be caught dead driving the thing outside my neighborhood though. :lol:

 

Then, did a fuel and air filter on a '03 Crown Vic. Ford seems to be pulling the same crap GM pulls - gotta change things out of the blue that have been the same for years. A little plastic fuel line retainer broke. Simple enough, right? Of course not! The plastic retainers included with the new NAPA filter - which have been the same since the 2nd year FI systems in '86 - are now way too wide. Can see where they molded a little tab in the fuel line fitting so that the old retainers will no longer fit. Trip 8 miles to the auto parts store for a damn $1.50 POS plastic!!

 

Automakers, YOU ALL SUCK!

 

 

Next up was a 2 year old Husqvarna snowblower that hasn't run since it was uncrated. The woman who owned it couldn't ever get it started, so she gave it to my neighbor. I hooked up my cord and pushed the button - lit right off without even draining the old fuel out! Win some, lose some. Diluted it with fresh fuel and shipped it.

 

 

 

I should've listened to momma and became a dentist ... :sick::lol:

They use some crazy like 0 w 40 at the dealer here. Is that normal? Cause I've always used 5 w 30

5 weight is too thin, IMO - zero-weight is just plain dumb ... ESPECIALLY in FL!! :noway::noway::noway: I could see using that to prepare for winter ... in Canada ... but not the lower 48! Guess they want you back in for a new truck when the engine wears out at 100k miles .

 

Don't walk ... RUN from that dealership ...

0W-20 for these ecotec3 engines, 5w-30 for the older vortec engines. Both are the factory recommended oil weights. I haven't had an issue with the 0W-20 yet and I tow often and idle a lot. Truck runs better now than new, almost 60k in under 2 years

Ahh, they went the direction Ford went in I see.

 

I still run 10w-30 in mine - OEM was 5. Cut my wear metal levels down BIG time.
