Sorry man - that sucks big time. At least from here it looks like you'll get out of it relatively cheap - just bumper and plastic, and probably all the brackets. Just a little different angle and it would've cost thousands.

Sorry for your truck but thanks for taking that Jetta eyesore of the roads for us.

You're mostly OK, that's all that matters. Insurance will hopefully take care of the damage.

Got to drive a F150 box truck and delivered out of a golf cart today. Fun times indeed. You'd think with all these people needing jobs that people would show up to the job they've got, I guess not. Oh well UPS is always hiring.

Sorry to hear that Chris, glad no one got hurt.

Got some scary news today. Got my reminder postcard for the airbag deployment module in today so I gave my dealer a call and he said "will only take 15 minutes, bring it on by right now". So I took it down there reminding them that my airbags have previously been deployed (recall states to replace module if previous deployment has been detected), side curtain only no frontal. He said the body shop should have replaced the module and they just needed to update it. All good right? Nope. Waited about 15 minutes, he came over and it seemed like the truck was ready so I was about to stand up and follow him to his desk when he started spewing the bad news. Said the tech hooked the computer up to my truck to fulfill the update and, wait for it, said the airbag module was not communicating with the computer in which he said it wasn't communicating with ANY of the airbags. So basically I've been driving around for 3 months without airbags.

I'm pretty furious with the body shop and the dealer, considering the dealer had possession of my truck for a week or so to diagnose an issue with my park assist. Not sure what to do anymore. They didn't want me to take it, for good reason, and put me in a WT model 2015 Silverado. He said the module is on backorder, didn't even give me a time frame of when it'll be in.

Not sure what to do anymore, even my service writer who I have a great relationship with said that I've had the worst luck with this truck. Starting to contemplate on trading it in.

Nice thing about this WT truck is it rides way better than my truck, a lot quieter, fit and finish seem to be a lot better than my truck (no weird creaks so far), and I have a 6.5' bed now lol

Modules .... I'd like to beat GM engineers over the head with them.

Wait now something doesn't add up here. If the SRS module isn't communicating with the ECM their should be an SRS light on in the dash. Also if the SRS isn't communicating with the seatbelts and impact sensors their should be a U communication code set and Check Engine light should be ''ON''. I think they screwed something up when changing your steering wheel airbag and they're bull whipping you.

My front airbags never deployed only the sides. I'm not real familiar with how the whole system works I'm just spewing what he told me

You do have some pretty bad luck with trucks. Hopefully they'll get yours fixed up.

I think someone is yanking your chain, If their controler code reader can't communicate with the SRS module this means the ECM can't either because they're on the same GMLan communication circuit. If this is the case and if the ECM isn't setting a code it would mean that the ECM is also bad, which I doubt very much. Something is just not right with what they are saying.

Meanwhile enjoy the work truck.

Think my tune could be interfering with it? Never have had an issue before, don't see why it would cause one now

A tune just modifies the parameters in the data matrix, it doesn't affect communications between CPUs.

Yeah that's what I figured. Idk, as long as they can fix it I'll be happy

Was that vid in real time? If it was, it would be a riot flipping those lights on in this state - you'd have 10 troopers box you in on the side of the highway claiming "impersonation of a police officer". That would make a fun Youtube video. :D

They come out with tape measures if you truck is anything but stock height ... and spot you 10 miles out if ONE plate light is out up here.

They need the revenue for all their social engineering programs. But I digress ...
