I used to wear a fluorescent lime green uniform with silver reflective tape all over it ... and I'd STILL almost get hit at least 5x per shift in the city of Worcester. No wonder they couldn't see your house number.

Most guys don't hear a word after I say 69.... they pass the phone over to their wives for the rest of the address.

I couldn't have a house number of 69. My immaturity would get me. I would laugh every time I gave my address

Laughing is good. Yesterday a lady came over to bring a cluster and her husband had written down 66, we laughed. She said "Well probably after you said said 69 his brain went dead" We laughed... Laughing is good for the soul. I laugh a lot.

I took advantage of being at my parents house today and washed out the remaining mud and crap from the fenders and undercarriage. Maybe sometime this year I'll add the rear frame caps and fender liners.

This morning I repaired a cluster and a 2015 Sonata FOB that the guy said his wife drove over it. It was one of those proximity FOBs.

Getting to compare fuel economy between My 2010 just shy of 800k miles and 2017 3500 SRW with 30k miles, pulling identical 23 ft campers from IN to South Cal....sort of....

The other driver taps his box tank into the breather tube on the filler neck. So doesn't top all the way off when we fill cause fuel always spills out....

But anyway there has only been about 5-15 gallon difference in about 1500 miles of travel. The 2017 doing better... then add a tank of DEF to that for the 2017.

Come on GM bring back the big block so I don't have to go to ford or get stuck in a diesel for my next truck. Or bump the torque on the 6.0 and tow rating by 2k

Well, since the rear diff gasket is reusable. I went and changed it out. The fluid in there had only 7,100 miles on it and it what a nice charcoal color. The magnet, in the bottom of the diff under the ring gear had a bunch of fuzz on it. I tried to take it out but further investigation shows that it is RTV'ed to the bottom of the diff, so I let it alone and cleaned it up the best I could.

The 10mm diff cover bolts where on there pretty tight. I couldn't loosen them with a 1/4" ratchet. I had to use a 3/8. Plus the lock tight that was on them was holding strong. I had to use the ratchet to get them most of the way out. I couldn't loosen them by hand.

So I cleaned it all up, put the cover back on and snugged the bolts back down. Filled it back up with 2qts and 24oz of AMSOIL Severe Gear 75w-90. This pretty much filled it until it started to drip out the fill hole.

Oh, before I started I took the fill plug out and a little fluid ran out, so it was serviced correctly and so that is where I put it back to.

...

Is that on your black 2002? And is that a normal differential or the g80?

And the tires look like continentals?

I researched shops to rebuild my rear diff. It's getting very vocal. No specialists locally, so I think I might take it to a couple shops and get quotes. Will probably have a TruTrac or something installed too.

Up here it runs $2,200 for most trucks. OUCH ...

It can be done DIY with a dial indicator, some Prussian Blue ... & LOTS and TONS of patience ...

Would probably take up an entire weekend.
