Thanks for the info CJ.

Knew I could handle it, but was curious if GM threw a couple surprises in there ... like they did with the Colorado/Canyon platform. Whoever engineered that turd should be beaten ... severely!!

Received SG Lou's HVAC which he thought he had destroyed this morning, he didn't do as much damage as he thought. Replaced the LEDs with white ones and this is how it turned out.

Just repaired and sold a (15732803 ) FOB for a 2000 Silverado stepside. Never thought I'd sell that FOB since most of those trucks have been sent to the crusher by now, but this guy never winter drove his truck so it's still in good condition 17 years later. Helped me make my quota in FOBs for the month. I'm still 2 clusters short this month but no big deal it's just a personal goal. I did 3 HVAC which I used to shy away from because of the time necessary to fix them. So all in all a good month.

Just redid a YouTuber cluster. It looks so easy on YouTube. This one wasn't so bad, he stopped after destroying the Speedometer stepper motor islands.

I added about 5 gallons of 87 a few days ago when she was near empty and today was the first cold start after, the result was the worst knock in years! Coincidentally it has been years since I used 87, it's always 91, or 89 when it's not at Costco.

We took mine for a nice drive to another doctor visit yesterday. Average mileage is still slowing climbing which is a nice plus.

I have to run 93 in my '07, since I tow - thing just about detonated itself to pieces the first time I towed using 87. I kept my foot out of it - was so bad I could hear it over the radio! Had to do 50 MPH, hazards on in the right lane on every hill.

GM frigged something up at the factory - that was years ago. Truck didn't even have 50k on it yet ...

These things are supposed to be designed to run on 87, so something is obviously wrong with both our vehicles. I just chose to bandaid mine with premium. I don't drive it enough to make me feel the .40 cent per gallon increase.

Nothing wrong in my eyes, just the engine letting me know that she has better tastes. :)

Nothing gained by running premium - just more octane (slower burn), and a lighter wallet.

Now if you're running a blown 350 with 9.5:1 compression, you NEED premium, or you'll scatter the engine all over the highway. :)

If you get spark knock from 83 your timing is probably off.

I'd say the same ... if we still had distributors.

Getting ready to throw my LTZ wheels and 275/60/20's on my 2015 for the first time. Installed adjustable Bilsteins earlier this week. I'm sure I'm going to want a bigger tire lol.. It never stops does it?

You got that right! Only thing more expensive than this is an aviation hobby.
