Buy or sell, Air conditioner stops blowing cold air and seizes up?

Seller claims that 1995 Z71 has air cond. that will start to blow cold air and then acts like it freezes up. Almost dragging the motor down. He took it to a shop and they thought "they" fixed it. He pulled out and it did the same thing. He has since purchased a new compressor and other air conditioner parts and it would go with truck if bought. Question is, do you think it is something more serious than a compressor?

The almost dragging the motor down statement is troubling but generally speaking replacing the compressor, expansion tube, accumulator, flush the system and charge with a 2 year warranty is about $600-$700 around here so factor that into your offer. If you supply the parts it should be less.
