Good Running Boards?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I am looking for a set of running boards for my 2011 Sierra reg cab long box. I have been searching through the forum but most questions are about a specific brand. My question is what is the best kind of running boards to get? GM or aftermarket, any brands that are built with good quality that I should look into?

Thanks!

I am very happy with the OEM boards. Just wish I would have noticed they came in black as well before getting the polished ones.

How long have you had them? they holding up to the salt on the Ontario roads?

I have the oem s.s. on mine. While they rarely see salt, I've not seen any that I thought were as good let alone better. Not inexpensive though.

AMP Research Power Steps. They are $ but so worth it

I second the AMP power steps. Nerf bars/running boards are just not attractive. After you buy the Amps you won't be sorry.

I have the oe 6" ovals. Been thru 4 winters and two trucks and still look good. Mount to body holes/nuts already there, no drilling anything. Very easy install.

What ever ones you get stay away from the ones that mount using the existing body mount bolts. Too many issues.

Is this how the oem steps mount? What kind of issues are we talking about here?

I am really debating on if I should go with black or polished steps.

Thats how the oem steps mount. I've had my CC for 3+ yrs and they are as tight and straight as the day I picked it up. There might be some aftermarket that mount the same that have had problems.
