So, what do you think?

I work for UP. Lol

I live about 60 miles south of St. Louis. Part of my job is loading bulk rail cars. UP guys come in to our plant twice a day to pick up loads and bring us emptys. Talk to them all the time.

Here's what I think; Regular cabs need an LTZ option. I'm not a fan of double or crew cab trucks. Hell, I don't even like a long bed on my truck. I don't use it for work, I have a second truck that I get dirty and am ok with scratching up and slamming around on the trails, and the wife has the kid-friendly vehicle in the family, so my '14 Silverado is my every-day vehicle. What I would like are the same available options that the LTZs get. For example, 6.2L engine, leather seats, one-touch up on both windows, not just driver side - same goes for power seats, 8" touch screen, power folding mirrors, the option to have a center console (I wouldn't get it, but I'd really like to make that decision myself), Bose speakers, a power sliding rear window... You name it, I want it in my regular cab. I've literally only owned GM pickup trucks since the day I started driving, and have been waiting a long damn time for you guys to offer a high-end option in a regular cab. How much longer am I going to have to wait?

I agree with you on regular pickups. They should also have the wiring in these truck so you can add any GM parts after they are purchased. More of a plug and play system and they would increase their sales from customers buying their parts instead of them going after market somewhere else. There should be more options. I was told Chevy sells about 65% in crew cabs and about 10% in regular cabs. The remaining is in double cabs. So I feel the interest and money is not in the regular cabs but where they can sell someone a crew cab or double cab and make more money. Toyota did away with regular cabs for their Tacoma and regular cabs are not available on Chevy mid size pickup coming out on 2015.

I don't think you can get a regular cab Tundra anymore either. A guy I work with has a crew cab Tundra, and aside from having two too many doors and seats, it's a nice truck, so I went online to check them out just for the hell of it. They didn't have an option for regular cab in the build and price section. Which sucks, especially if the mid-size GM trucks aren't going to be offered in regular cab anymore also. That says something about where regular cabs are heading. I absolutely do not want anything other than a regular cab, short bed truck, so if this ends up being one of the last model years Silverado/Sierra has a regular cab, and I buy new again, I'm definitely not staying with GM just for the sake of staying with them.
