I still cannot belive all the bs ppl at saying about the new truck. Chrysler has been using cylinder deactivation since 2006 and they seem to have no problems with it. Its 2013 this is what's going to happen. Chevy has to meet strict mpg stuff and it's an easy way to achieve their goals. Every one is jumping to this cylinder deactivation stuff. Even Honda is using this stuff on their V6s. I know a lot of ppl want old school trucks but this stuff is future for trucks. I think the interior is nice, very industrial looking. Looking forward to seeing Gmc sierra All terrain 6.2l I hope.

Actually the cylinder deactivation as used on the Ram hemi is a pretty controversial issue on Ram forums. A lot of users report hesitation issues, poor performance, and unpleasant exhaust sounds. Some report that their MDS almost never activates when it should while many others wish they could just turn it off. I've read of similar issues with previous GM trucks so if its been improved with the 2014 models, as several early reviews have stated, then that is very good news.

You have to keep in mind that only the ones with complaints will speak up. Those that are happy will have no reason to say anything. It is just like when I first started out as an apprentice mechanic at a Chrysler dealership. There was no way I would ever buy a Chrysler product, all I ever saw were broken ones.

Complaining about the sound of the exhaust when variable displacement activates is a bit odd to me. My truck came with a control on the right side of the steering wheel that makes all noises I don't like go away.

I was not a big fan of the interior either until today! Seeing it in person makes a big difference. Like I said in another post. All the pictures we have seen do not do these trucks justice IMO!

Where did you see one in person?

I agree, a truck is a truck. If someone wants it to ride and sound like a Caddy they should buy a Caddy. As for dropping down to 4 Cyliders like GMAN said its been around for years. Mabe theres lag etc. Theres good and bad with the AFM l. Wether we like it or not its here to stay. The real problem is the vents on the back of the front seats. If I had the $ I would buy a 2014 in a heartbeat! Best truck out their right now. That is until the Diesel half ton Dodge Ram comes out this fall. Might give Chevy a run for its $

Found GMC Z71 crew at Calgary car dealer.

Which one? I was at the Blackfoot Dealer yesterday and they did not have one...however, while cruising through Calgary, I saw a new one on the top of a car/truck hauler.

I can't wait to drive one!

Found it at GSL!

GM called me and I registered to attend a Silverado / Sierra Tour event at Greg Eagel Casino on Wednesday evening. Not only to look the trucks over but to drive them as well. Should be fun. I was a memeber of the TON Network.

Doubt the Ram will be hugely popular. The Grand Cherokee already has the motor in it and it is slow. It's one thing to pay a premium on the diesel when it has gobs of power but unless it has some balls most aren't going to take it seriously. It's just a mpg booster to help with CAFE numbers.

Always been a GM guy up until 1.5 years ago. Bought my first Ford. 2012 F-150 FX4 Ecoboost. 3:73 Gears, crew cab with 6.5' box.

Some of the reasons I switched from my 2007.5 GMC 1500 crew were. 6.5' box option. way bigger cab (i'm 6'3" so my seat is all the way back and I don't want to move it when people sit behind me), can fit 35" tires with a leveling kit, more power, 136L fuel tank, the truck is just larger in general. beside any GMT-900 (leveled or not) it sits a good 4-6" higher.

NOW, seeing these 2014's has made me consider coming back to my GM roots. (Especially since I've had a turbo replaced on my Ecoboost already) I actually don't mind the interior. Power numbers seem good. A bit less than ford but within 5-10% you aren't going to notice anyways. I drove my brothers v8 the other day and I do miss the traditional v8 power delivery as opposed to my turbo lagged power that if you don't spool up properly won't really do too much. That being said, I do like my ecoboost. Wish it got better mileage but hey its a crew can 4x4 with 6.5' box running 35's and 3:73 gears.

So, does the GM come with bigger fuel tank? how big of tires can you fit? Is it physically bigger inside and out? If I were to park mine beside it would it still look small relatively? How big is the new cab inside? can a guy like me sit in back with 4" in front of my knees? Also, cooled seats? (love mine in F-150) Sync is cool but not necessary all the time. ummm thats all I can think of right now. Flame on.
