I dunno I originally didnt like the dash either but it grows on you. It really is a modern feel. I think once everyone actualy gets a chance to sit in one and drive it they too will change their mind about the dash

I think that the interiors have gotten a much needed upgrade as the current interior is terribly outdated and dull. I especially like the red interior lighting in the GMC as that was always one of my favorite features of the Pontiacs.

Doesn't make a bit of difference just dumb if you ask me. I also thought that Vortec had a meaning because of how the air circulated into the engine or something along those lines so therefore it's not just made up there's a reason behind it.

I can see your point.It does seem odd to go away from something that has been used for so long. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how good this stuff is.

My plan was too wait after my truck to get paid off & buy a Cruze just easier on gas & such. But I think that plan has changed now.

Maybe Dyson said something to GM about the word... I personally cannot offer an opinion on the new truck until I actually see one in person. Pictures are too easy to manipulate to enhance some parts, while hiding other parts.

Not singleing you out, I've read this several times. But what is the difference in the GMC vs. Chevy interior?? I see see nothing different other than the steering wheel emblem guys???

Ford has had great success with the Eco boost name. It makes sense for GM to follow Fords lead and have an Eco name of its own. Why take a chance on a new name that the green public might not accept when there are proven names out there waiting to be used? Vortec is outdated. Vortec was used when motors were all about horse power and torque. Now it is about being green.

Wow, my monitor just went dim. I was not typing fast enough and half the LEDs just got deactivated. I think Dell calls it "Active LED Management" or something like that.

So it's ok for GM to copy Ford on this, but everything else you claimed they copied is wrong? Ya ok.

So since the Hemi name has been around for a long time I guess it's out dated and should be dropped too? Give me a break. Worring about making a truck engine eco friendly over haveing enough power and torque to get the job done is just stupid. Doesn't matter to me anyhow. I'll be keeping my "outdated" Vortec 6.2L that hasn't been molested by AFM.

Chevy guy all my life.. I have to say, If i were to go ahead and buy a new truck in 14' i would go with the Sierra. IMO the front end is WAY better than what GM put out for Chevy.

I Might change my mind when i see the full color matched version if the Silverado but as of right now I'm glad i just bought my 12'

The interior is "ok". Something i would have to get used to that's for sure.

I guess I expected better designs all around.

^^^ This is true.

Plus the HEMI is a hemi in name only. The current engine doesn't even have hemispherical combustion chambers. Crapsler just slapped the name on it.

I could not complete the poll because I could not answer the last question as the option that I needed wasn't listed. I would say "not yet", if for no other reason just because I love my truck. That being said there are areas that I think they could improve upon. Most of my critique is based on how I feel about my current truck, so I am admittedly biased. I'll try not to embellish too much by listing my likes and dislikes, but will quantify my reasons a little.

Likes;

Front ends of both, minus the headlights on the GMC and all of the chrome on the Chevy.

GMC wheels. Stylish and agressive looking.

Engine options.

Technology.

LED bed lights.

Dislikes;

plastic bedrail caps-cheap looking and unrefined.

Flared body lines on rear quarters.-upper line faded nicely to the tail lights on the GMT900 Chevy(not sure on the GMC) providing a sense of motion to the lines, while the new lines drop sharply after the wheel wells, looking more like old school fenders rather than modern body lines.

Dashboard.- No flow, no symetry, no style. Would love to have the technology in my smooth, flowing dashboard albeit with more leather and less plastic. This new dash seems to be leather giving birth to steel(plastic), or perhaps a nod to something seen in Bladerunner about thirty or so years ago.

I'm a bit concerned about the several "borrowed" ideas, even if they are good ones, like the tailgate flare for style and efficiency and the sloped cab for the latter. Not sure about the mansteps, seems to save about two or three inches and look like a bumper tongue hanging out. I thought that was what the license plate recess was for...

Engine compartment- it has more plastic in it than my wife's purse.

In the end, it's a nice truck. Smooth out the dashboard and get rid of some of the engine bay plastic and I'd own one someday. I have an idea for getting rid of some of the plastic...

Most people seem to like the GMC and someone made a comment the Chevy front looks like a Ford but watching this video of the GMC http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mu0UMUvdk5s&feature=player_embedded I thought it was a Ford especially around the ~13 sec mark.
