We got about 8" here also. All of last Winter we got 8.9" which we should surpass by Saturday if the next storms hits as predicted,

 

@ryan- how do you like your concrete driveway VS pavment?

 

??? I have never had anything except concrete. Its fine no issues.

Finally got the snow here, but theres only a few inches. I had a foot of it up against the garage doors and along the front porch. cleaned it this morning around 6:30am.

why would you get a day off work for only 8 inches of snow fall ?

 

 

For one the city is not setup to handle that kind of snowfall here in OKC, and ther other reason is I work for a utility company and safety is our main concern. With that kind of snow we would only work emergency calls and normal business would be stopped, no sense in making 3000 employes make the trek into work and risk their lives.

 

Our company takes safety very serious, only important needed people (linemen and the outage resource department) come in when we get snow/ice.

Our state dept of homeland security issues warnings for raod travel. White - no issues, yellow, warning be careful, orange only essential travel (work family related), and red only emergency personel on the roads. You can be fined for being out on the road during red/orange warnings.

we're getting our first good bit of snow. Roads are slick. My old man just towed my uncle out of the ditch. Gonna make the drive home fun. At least I'll finally get to try out the Grabbers

we got nothing but a dusting yesterday, most of the time when snow is predicted, Middle Tennessee goes into a Panic and forgets how to drive properly.

Woke up to about 10" today! Of course.. after getting my driveway about half way cleared my snowblower takes a dump! Have to pick up a new drive belt on the way home

Most I have seen at once is about 2 ft back in 98

Last jan we got 28 inches in 24 hours. While it was not the most i have. Gotten it was the moat non stop
