Gears... On a budget.

I was asked the other day:

Can I change the gears in the back, and then change the front ones later when I have the money?

I've actually always done both together... Does anyone know if it makes a difference?

Im going to do mine 'When i have the extra cash' With the 11.5 ring gear.. My parts cost a fortune!

I plan on going taller with a 35/36" tire so the 4:56,s will work great!

I may do the same the rear first with the locker, Then the front before next winter..

Asking for trouble IMO. most shops will do both at the same time cheaper than separate jobs.

+1, Since you gone this long dont do it till you have the money to do both, you will save a few hundred dollars doing both at one time verses seperate jobs as Matt said but if you do the rear pull the front driveshaft out till you get the front done as this will prevent you from forgeting and putting it in 4WD and causing major damage.
